To Blackburn Rovers. Has been a season long battle, and unfortunately we’ve fallen short at the end. After all’s been said and done, let’s be sporting enough to congratulate our deserving opponents on promotion. Play offs for us and three games, after which, we hopefully join them! Come on Salop!

Yes, well done Blackburn. Ultimately we got caught short right at the end of the season and couldn't quite last the pace and to go 30+ games unbeaten means deserved success.

But they were fun for a while and it's only a bit of childish banter at the end of the day.

Can't argue with their quality. We've done superbly to match two fabulous teams with no shame in falling short. Well done to Blackburn and Wigan - here's hoping we face them again next season.

Congratulations Blackburn Rovers. Money can't buy happiness but it seems a lack of money can buy promotion to the championship.

A couple of their fans have made idiots of themselves on here but one or two have been reasonable too, no different to Shrewsbury fans who post on other teams forums.
The resources available to Wigan and Blackburn are off the scale compared to ourselves, which was proved in the agent fees released recently, it’s taken 44 games for them to pull away from us to such an extent that they aren’t catchable, that’s a brilliant achievement for us, but overall Wigan and Blackburn have been the best two sides in the division.

Well I don’t congratulate them. Their fans on here and their manager were very bigheaded and unpleasant. My congratulations go to Wigan to be honest.

It's bad luck on our part that we've had two strong teams powering ahead to promotion.
Next season for instance the likely teams to come down are imploding Sunderland, Burton, Barnsley who will not be so strong.

I agree we've had some real dicks on here and Mowbray is an ungracious prick but I would like to congratulate the likes of Mikey Blue who has been nothing but courteous .

Yes, we’ve given the big boys a scare this season and, its just a shame the top 3 don’t go up automatically like in years gone by because we deserve to be where we are. Wigan and Blackburn have done what was expected being big fish in a little pond but my god, they’ve been pushed every step of the way by us which makes me proud. That said, they have been the best 2 teams in the division and deserve their promotion. Let’s finish the Job now lads and join them. COYB

I didn't want to post on here so shortly after, out of respect but I have to admit that the OP, you and the majority of the posters in this thread are true fans of real class. I know we have had a few dcks, I've called a few of them out myself that come on here but I do hope that you do not think that this is representative of the entire Rovers fan base. As another poster mentioned above, in the main we have been nothing but very complimentary of you guys on our boards. Bitter sweet for me as I wanted us and you guys up, you have deserved it and I will will be rooting for you in the playoffs. You have everything to be proud of so I hope you are not too hard on your team during this spell at the end of the season. The points haul you have got and could still yet get would be more than enough most seasons. I have really admired your manager, and your squads never-say-die attitude, I would put both even above our own with the only difference being we have had a bigger squad and a few more match-winners. Out of the many messageboards I have visited over this season, I have to say this one that is as down-to-earth and by and large friendly as any other. You have gained a fan, second-fan of course lol, but I hope you do not mind if I pop in from time to time and follow your results.

Congratulations on Blackburn getting promotion. They've played some fabulous football & any team that only loses 1 game in 2018 deserves to get promoted. Been a blast making you earn it but however disappointed I feel about missing out on the top 2 you can't knock any side that gets 90+ points in a season. Thoroughly deserved .

I do not echo the sentiments of the forum’s pious, back-slapping contributors.
Blackburn are a classless scum club, on whom I wish nothing but financial oblivion.

Well done?!?! We’ve stood by the rules and our fans are saying well done to them?! Hear hear - I wonder if Samharvey will also be offering his “sincere congratulations” to the significant number of Blackburn supporters who lined the streets to throw abuse at elderly Town fans leaving Ewood Park? Or to the thugs who pelted our goalkeeper with coins and missiles? Or to that sour-faced, charmless windbag of a manager? This thread is an embarrassment. A cringeworthy exercise in virtue-signalling and like-bait, and an insult to Paul Hurst’s valiant efforts this season. One should not behave with good grace towards those whom are incapable. F**k Blackburn, I say! Come On You Blues.

''After two defeats in their opening two league games, the former Celtic and Middlesbrough boss has made Blackburn's first campaign at this level since 1979-80 look straightforward.'' From BBC Sports.
I would hardly call it straightforward. They have had to fight tooth and nail to get this promotion and rely on us having a minor blow-up.
Back on course now and on our way.

Granted Blackburn are taking it to another level but they're not the only club out there spending money they haven't got. Most are spending more than they earn through income and are dependent on someone to fill the gap. Just unfortunate for us that we have gone up against a club that is prepared to do so and at a level that is way beyond our means. Which of course, looking to their debts, is no bad thing. I mean as daft as it may sound looking to where each club is in the table (we're set the play offs, they're going straight up), in the great scheme of things I know in whose position I'd rather be in at the minute. Thems some really big scary numbers bounded about in that Tito Finances clip above...
