I understand Paul Hurst told Jayson Leutwiler at the end of last season he would not be his future No1 keeper, he was looking to bring 2 in and if he wanted to continue his International career with Canada he would need to find first team football elsewhere. I think that is a Manager being honest in his opinions with the player who still has a year on his contract and gives him plenty of time to find a new club. I do not think Paul Hurst can be criticised in the way he has handled the situation. I know for a good number of supporters he is a big favourite who rate him, so it is disappointing for them but he will not be the first or last to be told he has no future at the club. I felt the same way with Marc Pugh. I would not be surprised if he leaves these shores, and whilst he has not been my preferred choice of GK at Shrewsbury I do hope he is able to find first team football with another club at a decent level. Looks like Fred has a new PR advisor.

Good luck Jayson - hopefully one day you will play again at the Meadow and get the reception that you rightfully deserve.

"if he wanted to continue his international career with Canada he would need to find first team football elsewhere".
A nice bit of leverage to try to crowbar Leutwiler out of the remaining year of his contract.
PH might like to try the same mind games with McGivern with regard to continuing his international career with Northern Ireland. For some reason, I don't think it will work.

In order to mount a serious playoff challenge we simply need to replace loots with better player, just as we needed to replace players like Deegan and 0'brien etc

WhenHenderson leaves at the end of the season, this guy could well be our new No.1.

True but most of our forward line will also be gone.....so if the manager plays the loan market he is continually replacing players every summer......not ideal I agree

Can't wait for Fred and his mates next pre plannned attention seeking 'controversial' campaign on here.
First the badge, then Leutwiler. I'm going for the safe standing campaign as their preferred option.
