Good luck Mickey. Enjoy it and make the most of a new opportunity. Sorry to see Mickey go , thought he had a chance with us , did us proud IMO last season . Hope he has a very successful football league career .

Really sorry to see him go. Take the managers point about him being inexperienced in league one but even so seems much better option defensively and from an attacking perspective than Sadler.
Hopefully a good loan period at Cambridge then he'll return to us a better player

Good luck to him, bizarre decision to send your best (fit) left sided defender out on loan.

Very strange one for me. Seems a quiet lad who would be good to have around the place . Not had many bad games for us . Harshly treated IMO and Cambridge have got themselves a good player .

Hope the experience he gains puts him back in favour because I can't see why his face doesn't fit!

for me he wasn't good enough to make the advance in leagues but still has chance to improve and make that grade
totally in his hands and i wish him the best of luck and if he proves us wrong then even better

Pleased to see Mickey get MOM but it was in a 2-0 home loss to Dagenham and Redbridge....

Much better player than Sadler, who has not got anything more to offer than he had last time he was here. Just don't get it!

Much better player than Sadler, who has not got anything more to offer than he had last time he was here. Just don't get it! Sadler has a number of years' experience at League One level - MD does not. I'm surprised MD didn't get a chance to make the step up but Sadler was a safe choice with history on his side.

I would suggest that Sadlers performances thus far would not support that view, ordinary at best. Bizarre decision to let Demitriou go in my opinion.

Much better player than Sadler, who has not got anything more to offer than he had last time he was here. Just don't get it! Not too sure what there is not to get. Mickey Mellon and I'd dare say Mike Jackson have concluded that we need more 'experience' in that position. These guys have over 1000 matches under their belt on top of their substantial coaching/managerial experience. Not suggesting that our manager and his assistant are infallible but perhaps they may be in a better position to judge the situation than those of us who watch on from the sidelines. The bottom line is that we will never be able to gauge how MD would fare in L1. Signs were there that MM wasn't entirely convinced by him in L2 so the stance taken during the summer wasn't entirely a great surprise for some. Can only wish the lad luck. Glad in some respects that he's not been retained as a back-up player who features rarely. Having got his first taste of league football it would be a shame for him to spend the 2nd year of his contract on the fringes of the first team squad.

When did he let us down in league 1?

Don't think it's so much the ability of Demetriou that's in question it's the quality of the replacement that people are questioning
We know from Sadlers first spell that attacking play and passing were not his strengths, and certainly a wing back role didn't suit him, which rather scuppered the successful 3-5-2 formation of last season
With the replacement of Gayle with Tuttle there is a of a fear of repeating Turner's mistake of disbanding a good group of players without significant improvement in quality

i would have said saddlers attacking play and passing was the highlight of his first stay, he seemed to always be getting down the line and into the box
the only problem at eh moment seems to be his ability in his own box

When did he let us down in league 1? He was 'culpable for around 29 goals' last season. Give or take 25-26 maybe...

The view that Sadler was bought pre season based on his playing history? I think we are talking at cross purposes Alan. I hope MD is fantastic at Cambridge and gets another chance here at some point.

On the plus side with Mickey D now becoming a god like figure, we may see the end of the threads about Tom Bradshaw as they are replaced by endless reports of Mickey D's performances

With the formation of the last three games shouldn't we be questioning whether MD is better than Junior Brown?

In my opinion the commentary is Serbian. In my second opinion it is not Russian. The adverts were showing some Polish Sausage, but that may be a red herring!
