Hope I'm wrong, but I'm reserving judgement. RW hasn't had the best record of appointments in the past. And that's why I worry as to who RW will eventually sell the club to.

Well, let's hope that it doesn't go the way of what Pryce Griffiths did at Wrexham. They've never really recovered from his dealings with Hamilton and Guterman.
Keyte and Agombar at Hereford are another worrying example.

Talked a very good game on Radio Salop, but the Blackpool reserved seats for STHs question exposed a gap in his attention to detail. When the problem was first flagged, ticket sales for the Capital One Cup game were less than one hundred (and I'd guarantee that most of those sales were STHs buying their own seats!!!). Easily recoverable situation, but Matt decided to tough it out. It IS going to have to be a great season on the pitch to reverse the trend of financial losses. I went to the ground on 28th July to purchase my own seat for the Blackpool game only to find that it had been sold! Very irritating. I do realise that eventually all seats go on open sale, but think that for my seat to be sold in late July for a game that is on August 12th seems a little over zealous on the part of the ticket office. There are plenty of other seats available. It's only a minor point, but one that's started this season off on the wrong foot as far as I'm concerned.

So many people moaning "their seat" has been taken for Blackpool game. Crikey move 1 row forward/back or 1 seat to the left/right, sure it won't kill anyone. After hearing someone in the ticket office queue making a fuss about it, I really think some need to get over such a minor problem

The club have already stated that no STH seats were reserved for the Blackpool game due to ? an error or not knowing how to use the system, but will be for future cup games......I thought I'd heard they were however reserving you a seat by the drum

Tut tut. That remark about me being allocated a seat next to the drum makes me out to be curmudgeonly!
I agree that being moved a couple of seats is only a very minor inconvenience, but it does not disguise the incompetence of the ticket office not knowing how to use their own equipment. Besides which, did it not occur to ANYONE in that office that selling any ticket in the ground for the Blackpool game wasn't quite right?

Not quite sure what the Ian Holloway anecdote was about but MW sure likes to tell a tale or two.

I like the bit at the bottom of the interview, where Matt says, "Football is full of surprises. I was sat at The Boathouse pub the other night, telling someone I'd just done a an interview with the local radio station, which was the usual s**te, when the guy at the next table fell backwards off his seat".

He's taking a question and answer session at The Boathouse pub next Toosday evening, 6pm. (Smart casual dress, no genes).

Has anyone any idea how we have lost 500k by being relegated? £120,000 TV money I believe and the rest you could amount to the reduced away fans? If the average away following was 750 last season and this season it'll be 350 then 400x20x23 = £184,000 Very rough figures but that still leaves £200,000, I've probably missed some obvious stuff. Maybe even the away fans difference will be bigger who knows. I imagine accrington Dagenham drag it right down!

calm yourselves lads, MW is doing his best to make use of our white elephant of a stadium, MM is building a league winning squad and RW if he decides to sell and I do not think he will, may want to keep ownership within the family. so sit back, clasp your knees and stand by for a white knuckle ride up the league.
if it has gone tits up by the Cheltenham game, AJ and his "lucky" stfc bears will be up there to bollock those in need of one. looking on the bright side, town will be well up with the leaders approaching Bechers Brook. Floreat Salopia. AJ creator of Optimism!

A great big Shropshire welcome to Matt Williams! From the ever vigilant fanbase and "award winning" local radio station.
I hope this is a model for the team, a polite welcome, then sieze upon and punish any weakness.

Still we question the ability of the players we now have. Granted, Some of the S***t thats happened over the last few years will take some shovelling away but the players we have will not go belly up easily. Ok, if theres any cause for question, it might be the defence. I think when we start playing the proper stuff they will come good. I will also say that to get to the defence, teams have got to get through the midfield. I, for one, feel that the midfield will be something to behold. Not forgetting the front guys who will take some holding back.

Anyway, given the furore it caused last time I am not prepared to share anything I accidentally overheard. But Bloody hell !

Individual's union subs do not find their way into my bank account I was not for a moment suggesting that, and apologise if it was not clear. But the only person I know who eats out more than you is Matt Williams! Maybe you should write a food guide together?

He must be embarrassed, the man with the tie with the comedy lion on, who must be going to a fancy dress party, is shaking his head and looking up at the ceiling".

...so said the Chief Executive on the beer terrace of The Boathouse tonight. We lost 500k the year before last, 500k last year and we're On target to lose 400k this season, even if gates break even. We desperately need a cup run ( good luck with that Matt!- my thoughts at the time ) Granted he wasn't actually talking to me when he said it but seeing as I was at the next table I thought it rude not to listen. had a similar experience to jamo this afternoon at the shrewsbury club while having a coffee which turned into two coffees due to the intresting conversation on the table next to me between a couple of mr hursts backroom staff
