Do any of these people go away and listen to the announcers? The vast majority are far inferior to Ryan. Absolute b******s. It has nothing at all to do with what happens on the pitch.
It would make a good car name. The Vauxhall Vendetta.

Said all the right things, which I would have expected from him to be fair, but still nice to hear anyway.........
Now don't get me wrong I'm not Ryan Jervis's biggest fan but please was that last question about him welcoming the away players, Directors and fans to the Meadow for real
I think he is spot on with his welcome to the opposition, its just called polite courtesy and decency in my book, something that we could do with more of in society not less.
Carry on the good work Ryan...........just need to sort out your minutes from your moments............
Agree, Mr Jervis is a gentleman and offers a polite welcome. The problem last year was that the players couldn't inflict a great big Shropshire thrashing so it seemed a bit too warm a welcome, maybe this year....

He seems like the missing block in the foundations of making us have a good club, obviously we will see in time if this is true.
Sounds like the Loggerheads or a variant of this will occur, although discussing it with the council is worrying as theirs is not closely related to the clubs badge. Obviously the quicker they sort out the badge the quicker they can sort merchandising such as the beach towels, but it does look like this is going to happen.

It was a decent interview, but I thought he might have given the Chairman a mention. Ha Ha. Thank god someone else noticed. There must be so much smoke up Roland's arse after that interview that he'll need a chimney fitting to his head

Got to agree that after a decent interview and a number of good questions, the Ryan Jervis bit at the end was a bit surreal to say the least.
How about asking about player budget this year as opposed to last, or God knows how many other points of interest. But no, after a pre-season of positives let's moan about the announcer being too welcoming to the opposition. Truly bizarre.

I don't necessarily want STFC to become a 'big club', I just want STFC to feel like STFC again... bringing back the loggerheads will go a long way towards that.
The question about Ryan Jervis was absolute nonsense, this is what sets us apart as opposed to other clubs who to be quite frank, employ dickheads as their mic man! I remember the guy at Chester used to be one of the most annoying ones, how on earth would 'welcoming' the opposition inspire them to get 3 points? They want 3 points regardless of what sort of welcome they receive!

They really are trying to promote the commercial side of the club. Received 3 Emails today. Two identical about the schools summer programme and the 3rd advertising a wine & dine with Micky on the 26th June. You received today an e-mail today advertising an event that place on 26th June ? Crikey, things are improving

The bit about Ryan Jervis was totally uncalled for.
His 'Shropshire welcome' didn't seem to do much damage when we went a whole season unbeaten at home!
The away fans pay money too and I think treating them well is not a big deal at all. If you treat them poorly then they are more likely to play up etc

Yeh I'm not quite sure where this idea that welcoming the away players supporters and staff is somehow the sign of Ryan loosing it or the club being soft to the opposition Been going to Town games since the late 70s and welcoming the opposition has been done since then. Just a decent, polite thing to do and something that makes Salop Salop in my book. Has no impact what so ever on the result of the game

I received all the emails too!!!
I caught the end of the interview and couldn't believe the Ryan comment either. I got the phone out to text in what I thought and then realised I couldn't remember the number!!!!!
Honestly dear if that's all you have to worry about, then lucky you is what I would have said to her!!!!

I can't imagine a more stupid complaint.
We're all away fans when we go away.
Treat them as we want to be treated.
As if any away team has ever been motivated to do better by Ryan's warm welcome.
Such epic nonsense.

Jim Hawkins could hardly get a word in which is no mere acheivement. If the Shropshire Star aren't interested in a column from him there's always the Chronicle. Good running gag about the beach towels. If they put STFC on them they could flog off some to Swindon.

This bloke used to work for the Oystons - I don't doubt that Roland seems like a cross between Mother Theresa and Santa Claus compared to that.

Impressed by some of his early work so far but the match pricing fiasco means he can't quite walk on water just yet. Any talk of revamping the club shop is pretty pointless unless a big decision is made soon. The thought of having Clippy the Crestfallen Lion on my beach towel makes me and plenty other potential customers shudder. Talking the talk is all well and good but we had much of that during Feb/Mar time this year. Unfortunately talking a good game wasn't enough to keep us up or our then manager in his job. Far too soon to know how effective Matt Williams will be in the long term. History tells us first impressions aren't always an indicator of success.... blueandamber.proboards.com/thread/47007/rob-bickerton-meets-fansI know what you mean, the proof is in the pudding and all that. But even so, just to hear him talk about the clubs merchandise and what's on offer gave me reasons for optimism. I've been bemoaning the club merchandising for as long as I can remember, at the very least since MG Sportswear became the kit supplier. But for whatever reason the club just haven't ever got a grip of it. Whether they just didn't know what they were doing or whether they just never thought it was important? No idea. But I do think they were more bothered about getting free kit and training gear in than actually providing the supporters something decent to buy. Go figure. But I think this Williams guy gets it. And to finally have someone within the club that does so is for me at least something. How it pans out who knows. But it's just nice to hear someone running the club talking about things like this... Nice to hear him discuss the Loggerheads trade marking too. Suggests to me they may have already had a little look into that...

Thank you so much for that. I missed most of it yesterday (did hear the odd woman at the end though!!!). A very interesting interview. One or two points that if I were a nit picker I could take issue with but they are quite minor and I am ready to move on and buy my beach towel!!! Just a thought, is he bringing some of Blackpool beach down as a selling point?!

Certainly saying all the right things and will hopefully be given the responsibility and resources needed to modernise the club and its marketing and communications
As others have said clippy will be the big issue. If in 12 months time that monstrosity is gone and we have a new range of kit and merchandise with a proper club badge that will be a massive step forward.
Any dragging of the feet or fudging the badge issue and a massive amount of goodwill will be lost and another PR failure will be added to the list

If the club is in a strong financial position and gained promotion within 12 months then that's good enough for me.
