When Rowland gets his bank statement he is going to want to know how MM got his PIN number! Probably a wise decision to offer a one year contract that shows some measure of care with the cash, but just have to hope the Direct Debit to FGR isn't noticed. What are the "Roland's mean with the cash" folks saying thase days? I have heard (from a guy I work with who was told by someone at the club) that the budget this year is the same as last so not necessarily increased by MM just spent more wisely and with the money from Taylor and Bradshaw who knows? One things for sure we haven't spent any of RW's money, perhaps the clubs but not RW's

A big cost of loans is you have to accommodate them don't you?

I'd like to know from where the figure of £600k spent on loans last season has emerged. My recollection is that Welshshrew revealed a figure of £300k quoted by the Chairman in his Q&A session at the Fans' Parliament. Loan players I am fairly sure Welshrew quoted the 600k figure and I can assure you it is correct because Roland Wycherly told me back in May when he gave me 50 minutes of his time at the club back in May. It is also a fact we spent a near million on loan players over the last 2 seasons! Fred - it was actually YOU who quoted the figure of £300k as the cost of the season's loans back at the time of the Board's apology statement following your cosy chat with RW!!! "It should, however, be noted that we as the Board were never comfortable with the heavy reliance upon the loan system and share the same widespread view that this has contributed to our position"
This was the GT strategy of 2 years, but the Board agreed to go along with it on the basis the club could aquire players they were unable to afford and get on permanent contracts in the quest to challenge for the playoffs! Over 300k spent on loans this season.
Source:- RW April 2014.... Please feel free to correct if I have misinterpretted

Don't know the in's and outs of our finances but I'm reasonably happy this seasons squad is on a pretty sustainable footing.
Based on the income from players who have left, and the likelihood we should have a decent season and maybe even a cup run attendances should be pretty healthy
The finances probably become a bit of an issue next season. If we don't get promoted does the club maintain the squad or start to reduce the cost of the squad; similarly if we go back into league one can we generate the extra income needed to get established in that league, and make a better fist of it than we did last season
Still think the club needs a significant income boost to really make a go of things in league one

Strange how a throw away 'guess' by fans soon becomes fact or 'reported' fact can anyone show us wher the £250k for JT came from or one even the wages quoted by Mark as reportedly correct came from these are just rumours....... Fact is to a great extent no one knows it's all guess work, or if you do know show us the source

Amazing the confidence with which people are stating our current predicament, given we all have sod all actual info on salaries and deals. I've never stated what we are paying these players. Simply because I do not know. I've highlighted what these guys were purported to be earning previously and asked others to speculate on their current earnings. If folks want to think these guys are on £700 per week then so be it. We have 4 strikers on a wedge. Potentially 2 of these will warm the bench each week. Let's look at what we think we know.... Wage bill in L2 same as it was in L1. Turnover down substantially this season due to a huge drop in season ticket sales, no new home kit to sell and significantly less away fans than the last campaign. Last year we carelessly managed to lose £400k. Despite the JT transfer boost Ijcan only assume that we on a simpler modoko8i

It'll just be nice to have a choice of strikers on the books

If we have brought in a squad of players, including strikers, got ourselves a new chief executive, performance analysts. etc. for anything like last year's budget then we are being run by a financial genius. But shouldn't be too much to worry about, Shrewsbury is a well run club, we don't have a chancer for a chairman and we will stick to league rules.

A number of coaches left with GT, the whole point of the new chief exec is to generate off field income so hopefully should be self financing the 'gamble' if there is one is that we have a good start to the season, are competing at least in the play off places which will generate more bums on seats and we all live happily ever after..... On the other hand a poor start and struggling at Christmas and pressure will be on but let's stay positive

Thought Mangan did quite well for the first 20 minutes or so after he came on, given that he was rusty and out of position, but faded quite quickly. Definitely not fit yet, but showed enough to suggest that he'll be useful once he his. On a couple of occasions he made his marker look a complete idiot with a very neat body-swerve.

I think he will be a real handful to manage hopefully more for the opposition than our own staff
