I just remember him playing up front on his own after Morgan got sent off and being more of a handful than our two strikers were for any defence since he left! that game v southend goes down in my book as one of the best striker displays i have seen from an stfc player

Shame we couldn't have Constable up front with him too.

Heard will be revealed tomorrow. Genuine question, is this from the same source as the Scott Brown rumour?

Hmm... JC returning. Would this be The Second Coming? He's not the messiah. According to Hibs fans he's a very naughty boy.

Is he on twitter? Hope its going to happen but not holding my breath. If it does what's the difference between now and when he left?

Heard he likes a night out in Edinburgh... Assume you've been reading the Hibs forum link. Lads will be lads.

The players signed whilst MM's been away on his hols haven't been well-known and have come out of the blue. Might they be keeping a wow signing under wraps for him to announce on his return? There's some guy available from Chelsea apparently!!!

Good luck guys but he was murder for us last season. Puts a power of running in but couldn't score goals hence the reason we got relegated. Hope he does better for you.

So basically everyone on here has been banging on about us 'not replacing Collins' for 2 seasons. Now there is a rumour of us bringing the same James Collins back to the club and suddenly he's not good enough?? 49 goals in 166 apps at the age of 23 if not bad atall. Maybe not worth £125k but far better than what we have had in the past 2 seasons. Funny you should mention those stats, the day after I asked what the reaction here would be if we signed a 23 year old striker with a record of 29 goals in 162 games. He turned out to be Rickie Lambert. Not suggesting Collins is another Lambert but he certainly already has the record (with Burton, us and Swindon) to suggest he can have a career banging in goals at these levels, even if he doesn't get higher. One short, thin spell at Hibernian (and who knows what went on there) or a few sitters missed (which striker doesn't?) shouldn't change that. £125k for the striker that scored 15 in 45 for Swindon the season before last wouldn't be a bad deal at all. Put it another way - Chuks Aneke and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas scored 15 last season, Leon Clarke & Kevin Lisbie 16, Dean Cox & Craig Westcarr 14. If they were 23, how would £125k look for any of them? Remains to be seen whether this is anything but rumour of course ...
