Had Hereford fans on the Cardiff forum. Game shouldn't go ahead. Hope none of our fans go.

It's a tortuous situation that will only end by the death of the current club.
What an agonising way of it happening though.
It's quite conceivable they go pop too late to salvage the season and have to start again the following summer.

It's quite conceivable they go pop too late to salvage the season and have to start again the following summer. Really can't see them making it through a whole season. They'll be lucky if they get 50 people going to watch them as things stand. The courts surely have to take a fair portion of the blame for constant adjournments giving them more time when it's obvious they are never going to pay their debts.

I wonder what they make of the goings on at Fortress Meadow this summer ? I imagine a lot of jealousy, but an absolute disgrace and I genuinely feel for their fans. Lets be honest and admit that, despite some of his failings,in Roland we have a proper Football Chairman who cares about the club and has kept us on an even financial financial footing

HUFC fan I was speaking to this morning doubts they will be playing this season.
One question I have to our Trust guys, is that I have spoken over the weeks to 4 hereford fans all who don't know each other and 3 of them feel that the hereford trust are now just hell bent on the club being killed off so they can have control, and question their motives. There appears to be a big split amongst their fans.

There is very little split amongst the fans. No one wants the club to go bust, ie, liquidation. The trust want Tommy to pay all the debts, then dialogue can commence. Simple as that. The problem is the actual level of debt. The trust had enough money to pay off all creditors if they were allowed to look at the books first. I think you would all agree that is a must. Now a 2nd group is around who will join the trust to form a fans led club in the event of the club folding. Everything is in place now. They do not want the club to fold. The biggest split is whether you should support a club run by East end gangsters, etc, etc. Some say if Tommy pays up, then regardless of his plans to rip off the club to develop the ground, he should be supported and turn up to games. Others take a completely different view. The trust are voting on a boycott only if debts remain unpaid. Not on the presence of the owner.
The feeling on the street is that the club will enter a CVA on Monday. That has been Tommy's plan all along. That will be his undoing. Behind the scenes, a lot of research has been done, and as soon as the CVA is announced the Trust will go into overdrive . Not only Tommy will be affected, the previous board should be very nervous too.
As to the Cardiff game, Cardiff fans will turn up, as they always do, and go on the booze. As we are in the southern league and unlikely to play anyone again for a long long time, the more volatile of our fans will embark on a final showdown with the old enemy. The police really need to look at this one carefully.

How can the club pay for the policing and stewards?

What is being hoped for is that the police, who monitor the forums, will take note of the potential for trouble and contact the club outlining the policing requirements and thus cost to the club. Soon as whichever Tommy is in charge realises how much it will cost (and by the time everyone who has decided to converge on Hereford for the ruck of the century, including the Jack Army who have a fixture at Wrexham the same day and are promising a trip up on the same train as the Soul Crew ) it could run into a six figure sum. So that may influence the Truck to cancel it himself. What are the EBF doing next week

There appears to be a big split amongst their fans. Don't think the Trust are "hell bent" on the club being killed off . In short, Hereford fans have two choices: 1. Back the Trust and the local consortium in setting up a new Club and have a football club to support in years to come , or 2. Let the current owners , through what I perceive to be a well rehearsed route , lead the club into administration and then liquidation with NO prospect of football this seaon or any season. There is no way that the TRUST can consider getting into bed with the new owners who have consistently broken promises and who's every action brings the death of the club neare and nearer. If anyone needs to be blamed for the potential death of this club then I believe you need look no further than the former Chairman !

Hereford United's Edgar Street home has been prevented from hosting matches because of crowd safety concerns. After two emergency meetings with the club this week, Herefordshire Council have postponed a charity game on 6 July and a friendly with Cardiff on 11 July. It said: "The council is not satisfied the club can currently meet the requirements of the safety certificate. "No football matches are to be held in front of spectators at Edgar Street until this has been addressed." Despite avoiding relegation on the final day of the season, Hereford were expelled from the Football Conference in June after failing to meet a deadline to pay their football creditors a combined total of £148,000. They are due to start the new season in the Southern League. "We are trying to support the current ownership to play football at Edgar Street," Herefordshire Council's head of environmental health and development management Marc Willimont told the BBC. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28163292

What benefit would Cardiff have of playing such a low non-league side? One that is looking unlikely to be able to fulfill a fixture by the start of the season let alone in a week.Even Cardiff's youth squad wouldn't get any benefit out of it Although considering the way Cardiff's current Chairman runs things who can be surprised that they themselves arranged such a tie in the first place.

It was an odd club to arrange a friendly with as there's been aggro in the past. I wonder if Hereford approached Town and were told to get lost?

Has Edgar Street ever been safe?! I remember debris falling from the roof when we played them in the conference!

From BBC Sport "Hereford have also been advised that their scheduled pre-season friendly with Plymouth Argyle on 2 August has had to be cancelled - as the Bulls will no longer be able to provide sufficiently testing enough opposition for the Pilgrims just a week before the new Football League season kicks off. Argyle will instead visit Conference South side Weston-super-Mare. "The Bulls were a Conference side at the time the Edgar Street match was arranged but have since been demoted," said a statement on the Argyle website. "Consequently, it was felt that they would not be able to provide a suitably high standard of opposition so close to the start of the season.".

Former Hereford United manager Peter Beadle has confirmed he is still owed money by the troubled football club. Hereford are due back in court in London on Monday morning to face the previously adjourned winding-up petition served by Beadle's predecessor as Bulls boss, Martin Foyle. But 42-year-old Beadle is disappointed that he remains one of many of Hereford's unpaid football creditors. "I've not had one phone call. Not one e-mail. Nothing from anybody," he said. "Even though I was still under contract until the end of June, I never had a phone call saying 'Can you come and meet up?' which is disappointing." Beadle, who now taken up a new position at Sutton United, told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "People might say 'Why didn't you go down to the ground and force the issue?'. "But it wasn't down to me to force the issue. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28184769

Unfortunately the Cardiff game has definitely been postponed. Luckily we have managed to arrange an alternative. Thank you Eagley FC.
Seems daft to have to travel to Bolton for a friendly. Any Sunday League teams round here looking for a friendly ? Quick phone call to club ( yes, there is still a phone line thanks to HUISA who paid the bill). Once in a lifetime opportunity, surely too good to miss.

What sort of guarantees would Hereford Utd have had to give to the Southern League in terms of being able to meet their fixture obligations etc???
I'm sure the management board of the Southern League will be concerned about the latest turn of events at Edgar Street.

The Southern league haven't a clue what they are doing. We still haven't complied with what they wanted, ie, football creditors to be paid. They should toughen up. As should the FA. They have also been made aware by numerous e mails how bad things are. They say they are interested in grass roots football and development of players. What is going on at Edgar Street is a disgrace. Young kids being conned, sleeping on camp beds in the Starlite room. Needs a full investigation now.
