Anything more we can do on this? It seems to have hit a bit of a wall. It could do with a boost, but as I'm not on any social network apart from FB, I was wondering if it is getting spread around enough on twitter etc. and are Alfs old clubs giving it any coverage at all? He played for some quite big clubs and some of their longer term (older) supporters would surely up the ante. Surely Man. City, Hull, Milwall and Middlesborough have a greater number of supporters that remember him than we have and would be able to boost the fund. The question is, do enough people outside of B&A and Shropshire know about the appeal and how do we rectify that?

There is a full page article in WSC about Jeff Astle so it could be worth popping onto their website (and align the Alf Wood campaign with their article).
I know town have had contributed to the letter page in the past and it would be worth using this as a mode of promotion - the newest addition will be released in about 4 weeks time.

Apologies for not pushing this much recently, I've been very busy at work (and it's not ended yet!) Wiseone - if you or someone else could follow up on the WSC article that would be great. I emailed the club asking if they would consider helping the campaign more formally e.g. through a bucket collection etc two weeks ago and they haven't bothered replying which I'm deeply disappointed with. I addressed this to RW himself but my email wasn't even acknowledged. Better news is we had a wee run of donations from 4 or 5 Millwall fans which brings the grand total to £1581.
Please keep pushing this where you can but we may be reaching a natural peak. Even so, this is an amazing effort by Town fans (with notable contributions from Man City and Millwall) - remember the original target was £488.

With gift aid we've reached over £1600 so thanks to all who have helped, its been a terrific effort. It's a real reflection of our great fans and why we should all be proud of being part of the Shrewsbury family!
As donations have now stopped I think I'll bring our effort to an end in the coming weeks (I set the original end date on the website as FA Cup Final day).
Thanks again and enjoy the summer, whatever happens we'll all be as excited as ever come August whatever we think now. COYB.

Great work African!
I was gifted a few old Shrewsbury jerseys by GlasgowShrew and we'd like to auction these off for this appeal.
Let me know if this is doable!

To All Shrewsbury supporters, we have been amazed at your continued generosity and support. The comments that have been posted on this site and the 'giving' site have moved the family and I beyond words. We have as a family fundraised for Dementia UK with a Skydive and cake stalls and to know, in total with your efforts this is in excess of £3000 is overwelming. We would love to help with a bucket collection or raffle in the new season and can stay in touch through this site.
Alf is settled and enjoys time with his family and still kicks a ball around with his grandchildren. All the best Joan and Family x
