Well it looks as if it's a logo in the public domain.
Open Word, Go to Insert->Picture->Clipart and search for lion.
Look what pops up...

In fairness, I don't think it works with a loggerhead: Right decision was made, IMO.

Next time you walk down Wyle Cop take a look at the old lion tap sign in the alleyway, a very similar lion hanging around there

This gets more ludicrous by the hour. The fact that its been nicked off Google images is stupid enough. But now it is on billions of computers around the world on Microsoft Word - just type in 'lion' on picture search. 2000 words of blah blah protected, trademarks copyright it they have used an image that is on 99% of pcs arund the world - Every little kids school project on Zoo's probably features this pesky lion!!! This is shameful for such a 'professional' club. PS. What do Swindon Town make of the legal protection of STFC? This is the biggest blag since Kevin Ratcliffe. And frankly scandalous....

I'm sure its properly designed with all the checks etc - logos always cost money.
Didn't know we were going to get a new badge - love the loggerheads - and its a very close cousin to the Hereford one, give or take a bull or so
I'm beginning to feel very packaged - its my football club, not a lifestyle accessory
Not very happy.....

It cannot be done, anymore than i could take someone else's pic, slap a circle round it and say it was now my copyright. Unless you fancy telling microsoft they have to remove the image for every single edition of office... they're fairly hardcore on the legal front

It's not bad, but it's bland, predictable and reminiscent of many similar images. I would have expected better from a 'top designer'. Many similar images - also designed by top designers? One complaint is that it resembles Chelsea's badge too much. I bet they used a "top designer". Firstly, the other designers got there first, that's why people are referring to Chelsea, Millwall and Lion bars - hardly the unique branding I was hoping for. Secondly, what has Shrewsbury Town to do with lions? We've never been called 'the Lions' so what relevance has this design to us? I wonder what brief the designer was working to. In my experience a designer will submit several different pieces of work based on the brief, I'd like to see what was rejected

I prefer this and at least its not clip art That I like. Far better than the actual version and far more relevant to SHREWsbury! It also looks quite original, unlike the lion, which several clubs use.

Are we going to hear from the club, in particular whoever signed this piece of clip art off?
Perhaps we can have another 2,000 word explanation on how great clip art is...
