No he doesn't as he ruined the game in this country, made our top flight one sided for over a generation. I hate Manchester United and I hate Alex Ferguson because of his and Manchester United success. He has also help strengthen the brainwashing of half the world to support Manchester United as if they are the only team in the world. It makes me sick, everyteam is entitled to have success but not every season. Its like they almost expect to be champions every year if not its toys out of the pram. I'm fed up of it now. As soon a Alex Ferguson leaves football I will have a party. Manchester United are and evil club, how many other clubs have such an evil badge.

They corrupt the whole game and rig as much as they can.

I'm no Man United lover, but to claim it is fixed for them to finish top three every year?? And as for Ferguson, he has his characteristics that are down right annoying, but there is no denying he is a genius of a football manager.

I'm also grateful that Shrewsbury Town will never be in the Premier League.

All hail Sir Alex, the patron saint of Salford. Will go down as a legend both as a manager and as a human being

I'm also grateful that Shrewsbury Town will never be in the Premier League. Certainly some very strong and bitter comments from someone who (if your profile is correct) would not be born to witness almost half of AF's spell at Manchester United. You also are probably too young to remember STFC's highest league finish and how close glory can be, I don't expect Town to get to the premiership but think of the teams we have played that are either there now or have been in past seasons.

That's hardly his fault though is it? Not as if he is going to decline using the financial advantage that he has at the richest club in England. He would be daft not to. I would say it was the clubs and the formation of the Premiership that resulted in Manchester United being able to use their financial muscle to outspend the vast majority and buy the title year after year, Ferguson didn't have anything to do with that did he? Take a step back. 25 years. That's an amazing achievement...

Although Fergie is the constant at OT over the last 25 years there should be huge Kudos to the behind the scenes people who proved that if you get things right off the pitch it will come good on it.
The backroom staff, youth coaches and marketing men have got practically everything right for MU over the past quarter century and that's why they are now so successful.
I'm sure fergie will celebrate with a glass or win or 3 . .

I'm a big Arsenal fan but it wouldn't have been half as fun being dominant in English football for five years without such a worthy rival. Definitely one of the best managers I've ever seen.

" definitely one of the best managers I've ever seen".
Let’s me guess Sir Graham Turner the best right. With all due respect fella 'the best manager we have all seen - FACT!'. Anyone who says otherwise is talking b******s. People who say Utd bought the league, rubbish - Fergie built Utd from a mid table team in the old first division. Success brings money, higher gate receipts, new fans etc etc - look at City and Chelski more modern examples of this transition. One very big difference Utd have history and lots of it!

Dislike Alex Ferguson as he's a bully and Keane, the captain for much of his tenure , was like his on-field emissary.
I believe he had a philosophy of 'contest every decision. It might not affect the ref's decision, but it'll probably effect the next one'.
Contesting every decison was part of United modus operandi and became endemic.
And before the usual suspects pop up and say 'Oh, so it never happened before...' I'm not saying that. I'm saying that when the most successful club routinely use this tactic, it is copied by others and becomes endemic.
Dislike the way he berates and threatens any journalist who dare ask him a question which he doesn't feel is laced with the appropriate level of sycophancy (recent example: the ridiculous reaction to Kelly Dalglish asking him about his choice of keeper).
Then there's the 'persecution' complex. If the FA discipline him for routinely abusing refs, his players for missing drugs test, attacking spectators, or directing snarling abuse down TV camera, it's all down to some FA conspiracy to bring United down.
Even though, to the rest of us, its plainly obvious they're s**t scared of him and usually declare they''ll be 'taking no further action'. It's usually only the more egregious examples that spark a bit of a media furore that force their pusillanimous hand.
Then there's been the thorough dislikability of so many of his charges: the likspitlle Neviller, the petulant young Beckham, Paul 'not malicious but...'Scholes, the thuggish Keane, moronic 'Wazza'...
They're often ungracious in defeat and nauseatingly gloating in victory.
Nah, I'm not mad keen on United.
But they have played the most consistently exciting, entertaining, attack minded and successful football of any British side over the last twenty years or so.
You just can't take that away from them.
Of their players I like, I'd say Cantona, Solskjaer and Giggs (not bothered by his extra-marital, I'm not his missus). I also admire Scholes for his professionalism and refusal to enter into any media circus (and he was better than Becks). Although it annoyed me the way commentators absolved him of blame for any dirty foul!
That said any United fan who says of City 'yeah, they're good, but they should be the bloody money they've spent' is having their twenty-years-of-success cake and bloody well eating it.
