I remember being in the Stretford end with me gob firmly shut in 1990, we beat the mancs 2 - 1 and all around us were loud shouts of Fergie must go, with our end Fergie must stay ( if only he bloody went), i don't particularly like the fellah, but no one cannot take away his record as a manager, just hope he stands down soon.

I don't know what Mike's talking about when he says United are getting in a strop because another British team's spending more money than them. I'm sorry, but Chelsea have been spending more money than United for a while now!
In the last year - United spend heavy transfer fees on De Gea, Young and Jones. Chelsea spend heavy transfer fees on Mata, Torres and Luiz. City Spend heavy transfer fees on Aguero and Nasri. I'm pretty sure United's spending is the bottom of those three.
Ferguson has done what so many managers couldn't, and remained at the top for this long - regardless of how much money has been spent. Will Mancini still be at City in 20 years time? I doubt it. Look how Chelsea have chopped and changed their managers since Mourinho went.
The only person who could be as successful IMO, is Pep Guardiola - and that's only a maybe. I very much doubt that any manager will have the success long-term that Ferguson has. Not only has he done well, but he'll leave a legacy behind him.
I'm sure that City will win the league - it might not even be this year, it could be in a few years. However, will they stay there for years and years? I'm not so sure.
As for those who say that United's day has gone.. i'm sure that's been said before!

Alex Ferguson, (I Don`t call anyone Sir ). Has been a Good Manager over the years, Cannot deny that, But he has also been a Lucky one as well. How many managers these days, Would be at Old Trafford for the first 6 years, Without winning a Trophy ? So While i admire what he has won, He has also been Lucky. Can`t stand his mind games, And ref blaming.
