I see Mick McCarthy went to the Paul Simpson school of winning the fans over. Link------>

I'm not surprised given the flack his ancestors must have taken in the Irish potato famine that ultimately he is slightly bitter.

I think he is a bland, boring kind of guy with little or no charisma. But, he has every right to hit back at those that are having a go during a depressing time for him and the team. Don't like Wolves ( especially their fans) but nows the time to get behind the team, not rip into it. How's he going to turn things around, the players as a whole are Championship standard at best, and there is little likelihood of big money being available for class players, who probably would'nt want to go to Wolves anyway.

He is friendly, funny and charismatic. Whether or not he is a great manager, I'm not qualified to judge. Bland or boring he is not.

I would suggest to the Wolves 'fans' giving him some stick that they wouldn't still be in the Premier without him. Be careful what you wish for eh

For me I wouldnt care if WWFC fell all the way back to Division 4. Their fans are the most fickle acrid bunch anywhere in football. I personally love McMarty's attitude, he's the manager and lives or dies by his decisions. The torrent of hate directed at him by "his own fans" was awful. Let them eat cake Mick

Fans have the right to their opinions, as does the manager. I like McCarthy, the way he goes about things, makes a refreshing change to the norm. Still hope they get relegated, mind...

Funny that, we had a manager that said the level of abuse aimed at him from certain sections of the fan base was unacceptable (no all fans, and those that did it were morons) pretty much the same as MM, and he got slated, either way, both Simmons and MM were right!! Let them eat cake Mick

but there is a difference
they were having a go at his subs who then actually helped wolves somehow come back from the dead and rescue a point
the writing is on the wall though once you fall out with fans, for any reason

Nice to see their fans know more about the players/subs than he does Feel even more for the next manager as he is always likely to fail if McCarthy has in the fans eyes. Be nice to see then go down - especially for the fans. Anyone remember their annual retort "When we get in the Premier" which usually occured just before another spectacular promotion failure

Was chatting to a Wolves mate of mine about him, he says he has this reputation of someone who calls it as it is, is very honest and is seen as a breath of fresh air amongst the standard, safe responses other managers give. However in the opinion of a lot of Wolves fans, he's not like that and instead is someone who gives lots of sarci comments, tries to be funny and generally avoids a lot of questions
I know Wolves fans do have a reputation of being a bit fickle and it probably looks to an outsider that they are being just that, especially considering the work that MM has done. However lets not forget that we were shouting for Quinn to go, a few months after he got us promoted back into the football league and were shouting for Peters & Simpson to go, a few months after they got us to Wembley and nearly got us promoted.
To a lot of outsiders, those were harsh decisions and a case of us being fickle.

He said; I say what I like and I like what I bleedin well say!

For me McCarthy is still bland, boring and completely unfunny. His so called "pithie" comments and attempts at humour leave me cold. Maybe he should concentrate on the team, and not being the Premierships joker. Most of his jokes are so old you can see them coming last week. Maybe most of you are Wolves fans, well enjoy yourself in the Championship next season, cos thats where Wolves are heading.

Because I don't think Mick McCarthy is boring and bland, it therefore follows that I am a Wolves fan? Guilt by association? or is BaystonBlue just thick?

Trouble with Wolves fans is they demand success - much akin to the Baggies down the road.
The Manager is astute and I feel works well with what he has got.

If you read my post you will see that it reads, " MAYBE, MOST of you are Wolves fans. It was meant as a comment. Did i mention you by name, NO. It seems you are showing all the signs of being paranoid. Typical behaviour of a Wolves fan i would say. ( Before you reply this last sentence will be completely lost on you.)

I think he is a bland, boring kind of guy with little or no charisma. So far wide of the mark it's untrue, have you ever seen him interviewed? Cantankerous, obtuse, opinionated, forthright all apply - saw him interviewed after the Swansea game and he was fiery, very angry indeed. Having seen the game I think he was more than entitled, Wolves fans are more fickle than most at the best of times but they were awful, a real detriment to the team.

Every Manager at sometime or other can be described as Cantankerous, obtuse( i agree, he's never been the sharpest tool in the box) opinionated( a football manager, opinionated, shock, horror.) and, and, very angry indeed. He's boring, bland and got all the delivery of Jack Dee on downers. Most of his one liners come from Stanley Accringtons book of jokes 1936. He'd make a good double act with Bruce Forsyth....ther'e both s**te. Just how many closet Wolves fans has this forum got?

Saw him interviewed on Midlands Today yesterday and he admitted he threw his toys out of the pram a bit after the Swansea game, which a bit of guts on his part.
