Well, I've woken up to worse news that's for sure. However, Al Q'Aeeda (sp?) is a huge cancerous organisation. It may have lost its leader but I fear its retribution will be a spectacular one. Maybe not this year and maybe not next but sometime. That evil monster wasn't just responsible for 9/11 and 7/7, but the deaths of hundreds of British soldiers. May he burn in hell and they rest in peace

There's bound to be a backlash for this, as much was threatened a couple of weeks ago.
I wonder if they knew that they were close to finding him

I suppose that'll get him re-elected, Obama. Sure that wasn't apart of Bush's plan...

Well, well, well
I very much doubt Pakistan will be that happy that they undertook a raid against a civilian without their say so.
"Techincal difficulties" for the helicopter? Sounds like it took some stick in the firefight.
Unless they release some sort of picture of the body there will always be some who don't believe it.

Reported to have been "buried at sea" That is the concern. There will always be claims and counter claims about stuff like this.

On the plus side, as Bin Laden was an Arsenal fan, I'm glad for him it didn't happen 24 hours earlier.......

interesting to read that this was planned for almost a year and intelligence in the US had his whereabouts then, Bush would of just sent troops in hell for leather style straight away and **** the casualties on both sides!!! Obama has taken a softly softly catchy monkey approach which has paid off so yet another reason why the yanks should get of his back, he certainly isn't anything like the bumbling baffoon before him!!!

Could also explain why the royal honeymoon was postponed - too big a chance of reprisals?

What a daft way to look at things. So Obama said Bin Laden was not a Muslim leader. Doesn't mean he wasn't a Muslim. Just some chap trying to... ...and not making a very good job of it either...

And then you'll always have this, those who'll dismiss any evidence it may be him. How about this then, would you think it would be streamed on live TV if it wasn't him?

I too am waiting for an official photo to be submitted to the media before I'm convinced however it is a good day for the West and America. That said Americans seem to be baiting a reaction from Osama's supporters with the gatherings at Ground Zero and the Whitehouse.
It's going to get messy for a few days but the world's a better and safer place without him.
