My name is Martin James. I am employee of the football club known to many on here and other supporters of the club. Can I honestly suggest that the timing of your investigative questioning is poorly timed with the biggest game of this clubs recent history on the horizon? Just because there are continuing concerns at Wrexham about the management of that club which, incidentally has been going on for many years, does not mean that a tightly run club like Shrewsbury Town should be tarred with the same brush.
The club has a q and a system open to all supporters and other interested parties whereby questions can be asked and considered and answered by the club. I am one of the people who deals with and processes those questions that are sent in. Some questioners ask for the responses to be made public, but want to remain anonymous to the public.
Why did you not seek the answer to your question from the club rather than indulge in idle speculation about the identity of this shareholding? Have you read the accounts? Have you listened to the comments made by astute accountants who post on here and go over said accounts in great detail? Why do you fear some demon lurking in the background? What evidence do you have to cause you to think this?
It is no wonder that posters on this board and those who work for the club become suspicious of such posts as yours especially with the timing and acrimonious concerns at Wrexham and the anonymity you continue to hide behind.
I have identified myself to you and what I do. In all openness I ask you to pm me with your name and e mail address and then e mail me at the club so I know it is you and ask your question. I will try to get it answered for you personally.
My e mail is martin.james@shrewsburytown.co.uk.
p.s. I have no doubt that the financial structure, operations and shareholder support for Shrewsbury Town has been scrutinised by such organisations as HMRC, Companies House and the football League as well as countless other individuals. The general consensus from anyone connected with the club through work or support is that it is in very good health thanks to the stewardship of one man in particular.

maybe b&a should have its own q&a, so the club can contact us rather than speculating about our members

Firstly, I have the greatest respect for you and have enjoyed reading your contributions to this board over the years so please take my response to your post contructively, there is nothing to worry about concerning my identity, i have nothing to do with the club, past or present, im just a fan and whilst i disagree strongly that this issue should not be discussed because we have a big game coming up, i can respect your viewpoint. However in answer your points.. Nobody is tarring anyone with the same brush, a legitimate question about the clubs Major shareholder JEFREEN HOLDINGS LIMITED has been raised after viewing the clubs annual return. If there is nothing to hide, then why would the timing of the question be poorly timed.? The club has a q and a system open to all supporters and other interested parties whereby questions can be asked and considered and answered by the club. I am one of the people who deals with and processes those questions that are sent in. Some questioners ask for the responses to be made public, but want to remain anonymous to the public.
Why did you not seek the answer to your question from the club rather than indulge in idle speculation about the identity of this shareholding? Because this is the place to discuss such matters that concern fans, there are lots of people on here whose opinions and knowledge i respect and who generally have inside information who could have provided details concerning this issue, however, NOBODY has been able to provide any insight into this matter, which suggest that there is a complete lack of transparency regarding the clubs major shareholder JEFREEN HOLDINGS LIMITED. Have you read the accounts? Yes Have you listened to the comments made by astute accountants who post on here and go over said accounts in great detail? No, accountants are the most corrupt people on the planet along with bankers ;-) Why do you fear some demon lurking in the background? What evidence do you have to cause you to think this? What evidence do you have to show this isnt the case? i am simply requesting that the club is put to proof on this matter. It is no wonder that posters on this board and those who work for the club become suspicious of such posts as yours especially with the timing and acrimonious concerns at Wrexham and the anonymity you continue to hide behind. The concerns at Wrexham should concern every football fan and are what initially raised my concerns about this, i belive that fans have every right to expect transparency, especially from its major shareholder JEFREEN HOLDINGS LIMITED. I have identified myself to you and what I do. In all openness I ask you to pm me with your name and e mail address and then e mail me at the club so I know it is you and ask your question. I will try to get it answered for you personally.
My e mail is martin.james@shrewsburytown.co.uk. With the greatest of respect, it is my right to anonymity that allows me to pose such questions in the first place, i do not think it matters who i am as i have no personal or business interest in the club other than paying my money at the trunstiles to cheer on the lads whenever i can, im just a fan who is concerned at the complete lack of transparency surrounding the major shareholder in the club i have supported for 31 years. p.s. I have no doubt that the financial structure, operations and shareholder support for Shrewsbury Town has been scrutinised by such organisations as HMRC, Companies House and the football League as well as countless other individuals. Then there will be no problem in releasing the company accounts, directorships, shareholdings and offshore company registration details in JEFREEN HOLDINGS LIMITED to the public. The general consensus from anyone connected with the club through work or support is that it is in very good health thanks to the stewardship of one man in particular. Agreed 100%, that is irrelevant though as this is a transparency issue, not a personal attack on the directors or football club.

Is this question about Jefreen Holdings really that important that it can't wait until a week on Monday when we've all got over our celebratory hang overs?
The club isn't going to sell up to some fake middle eastern consortium in the next fortnight, so can we just let it go for another few days and agree to allow it to brought back up in a week or so?
Please.

Martin,
Firstly, I'd like to applaud you on your reply to this mysterious 'Cypher' character via the excellent post that you have shared with b&a.
Secondly, I'd like to thank yourself & STFC for the open-door policy which you run in the way of the 'questions to the club' profile on this board. I'm sure fans and supporters of other football league clubs would more than welcome such a gateway to the staff, board & players of their chosen team.
I feel that the topic which you have replied to has been started maliciously, just as we appraoch one of the most important games that the club has faced for the last decade.
Open reporting and honesty in the issue raised is commendable and will help to alliviate any fears true Salop fans may have felt after the original post. The club must be applauded for their quick & honest reply.
I'm sure that Mr Wycherly, and the Board of STFC have the clubs best interests at heart, and will maintain the creditable fananicial situation which the club currently finds itself in - the very fact that we are looking at our second near capacity crowd in the last fortnight is indeed testament to the profile in which the club has been held by the people of Shrewsbury & Shropshire.
We have a club, stadium & style of football in which we can all be extremely proud of, and a partisan crowd on Friday night could lead to a memorable end of season for Shrewsbury Town FC.
Finally, I think that there is a small case of 'the green eyed dragon' looking in our direction from the Wrexham area.
COYB!

PILCH can verify that i am not an imposter from over the border and that im just a shrewsbury fan and previous poster on this board, nothing more, nothing less.
However please bear in mind that he and the MODS of this board have a duty to protect my anonymity and personal information under the data protection act and so would commit an offence if that information is disclosed.
Please do not request this information from him as i have requested that he and the MODS maintain my privacy.

If you're going to stir up the hornet's nest, then at least be man (or woman) enough to expect the questions about your motives & anonymity! Jalfreen Holdings may be listed as the majority shareholder in the club, but Mr Wycherly is still the Chairman and along with his Board of Directors are making (in my opinion) the right decisions to take the club forward and on to success at a higher level. If your concerns are so great, why didn't you approach Martin & the club directly, rather than post on b&a? Also, if you feel that there something shady or amiss going on behind the scenes at STFC, please feel free to report it to the Serious Fraud Office or your local Business Standards department! For me, STFC is all about football, and the enjoyment which goes with it - as long as the club is run professionally I couldn't care less who is the main investor!

You are missing the point entirely - The issue is about transparency concerning the clubs MAJOR shareholder, there may be absolutely nothing wrong, nothing to hide..... BUT...... unless the club make a full disclosure on this issue, then NOBODY including you can argue that there is nothing to worry about, there is NO publicaly available information on this company that by all intents and purposes has majority control of our football club. If theres nothing to hide (and i really hope there isnt) then the club wont mind making full disclosure, secrecy breeds conspiracy, distrust and bad vibes man !

It may be that the shares held by Jalfreen Holdings are actually owned by someone who already holds a fair amount of shares in STFC? The club are under no obligation to discloise who controls the company or agency who hold shares in STFC - and as for any conspiracy, there wouldn't have been one without your OP...contact the club direct and ask them the question rather than trying to cause bad feeling!

shrewstrustpress Totally different issues to Data Protection. no it isnt, go back and read the article, th bit where it says "In the first case dealing with the privacy of internet bloggers, the judge ruled that Mr Horton had no “reasonable expectation” to anonymity because “blogging is essentially a public rather than a private activity” blogging is no different to posting on a public forum. you are sitting behind a wall lobbing bricks, what is there to fear from letting everyone know who you are?

I can confirm, as requested this is a previous B and A poster, and this IP address matched another posters on here....
However why hide the anoymety on this matter is something I dont get, and which has caused all the alarm and worry by myself on this matter initally... which caused the post to be deleted...
I know who you are, and respect you dont want it annoucned... but you leave yourself open to plenty of abuse by remaining as "cypher"
For the record and for what feel like the 10th time today, the club and Chairman has agreed to answer any questions on the ownership of the club from any fans (as they will any question)... however to do this the club (and within there rights too) require a real name and a location... if you want to ask the question directly yourself you will need that, if you want B and A to ask it as part of its latest set of questions, then I will need it to send to them.
The club are not even trying to avoid the question, the chairman has agreed to respond, Martin has attempted to engage you.... no massive issue is it? Im sure should we want to know whats going on it will be explained... but after hours of going on about it, have you attempted to find the answers out from the club yet? Or are you more intrested in causeing grief for the club before the biggest match for years, and attempteing to get other B and A members to do all your leg work???
You will likely get your answers when you ask the question, and its likely it will turn out to be totally boring news which many on this board have already intimated the case will be.

MAY is the optimum word here - You do not know one way or the other becasue there is no information available on this company.
I would argue that the club are under every obligation to make full disclosure on this company to the fans.
Obviously the club are now fully aware of the questions being asked about this, so can we now expect full disclosure in order to dispell the concerns of its fans?
A conspiracy can only occur when there is no transparency from those that seek to hide the detail.

Then drop your 'cloak & dagger' approach to this issue and contact the club, identifying your concerns and who you are. When the club have responded to your questions, feel free to share their reply to all of b&a to help alliaviate the fear and concern within your fellow supporters. That way, you'll either be applauded as a leader of free-speech or as a complete numpty who is barking up the wrong tree.... ....just a thought!

I'm also confused as to why in their 21 posts - the majority of which have been on this post - they couldn't have written on either the B&A ask the club thread, or even the official ask the club thread. totally odd behaviour.
