Well, it's worked fine up to Saturday.
A minority have ruined it for the majority.
It makes sense for larger crowds - if bought online the ticket can be traced to the buyer for a particular seat.

Good in the sense the Club are trying to do something about the overcrowding and only doing it for this game.
But are checks at the turnstiles going to solve the problem? Once you are in the concourse you have the freedom of the stand. The stewards need to be checking tickets on the stairwells if they want people to be in the right areas.
Not sure what the price band issue is about, have adults been getting in with kids tickets?

But that is trying to solve a problem rather than trying to prevent it in the first place.
Some people may well feel intimidated by the person sitting in their seat or feel uneasy about snitching to a steward about it.
Prevention is better than cure so they say.

When I booked my ticket, I made sure that the block was still unreserved seating and got told yes, otherwise I would have booked them together with my mates. Although, saying that, I think it'll be the same as the Oxford game and everybody will sit where they want.
I only know it isn't unreserved from reading on here, there are plenty of people that don't come on here or the website, so will assume the system that has stood all season will be the same for the Torquay game.
It'll be chaos again.

Yeah, its a bit odd saying this once tickets have already been sold.
In principle good move by the club, but will take some work by the stewards to enforce it.

i do agree that there will still be some fans who feel they have the right to sit anywhere and no doubt it will be block 19
but snitching doesnt come into it if the ground is full you simply cant go sit somewhere else
if the person sitting in your seat refuses to move then sorry the only alternative is to show your ticket to a steward and request either they evacuate your seat or find you another, that is if you don't mind having another
what you don't do in this situation is take the law into your own hands if the person wont move from your seat, chances are they will relish in you confronting them all of a sudden you could go from victim to villain
you have bought your seat, you are entitled to sit in it
yes it will may lead to potential trouble but it will be 100% trouble of the fans making this time and not stfc
saying that , stfc really do need to go over this situation with the stewards and have a plan set in stone

Can see why this may have happened but feel there was no need for it to happen. But really disapointed I sit stand with mates that do not have seat numbers together, means we'll be split up now!!! Atleast we'll sit together in the singing block at Old Trafford.

Makes sense but some knuckleheads will refuse to follow it and sit where they want anyway and threaten people who rightfully complain.

Not happy about this, I bought my ticket for the front of block 8 whilst it was still sit where you like. It was the number on my season ticket.
I'm not going to sit there, I'm going to sit where I normally sit with my mates in the block and will not be moving.
Poor planning by STFC and will cause even more arguements.

Me and my mate both had season tickets in 19, but just in arbitrary seats as we just went wherever. Luckily for me I bought a group of 3 tickets for the Torquay game but he just got his ST seat, so now he is stuck on his todd. Obviously there wont be too many people with this problem, but if the club had decided on this policy before selling tickets in these blocks it would have been a lot fairer on people buying tickets.

Come on people STFC are pretty flexible. Why not ring up and change your seats? 19 is neaqrly sold out and I don't want to sit at the front. I was just making the point that they should have held back the tickets for those 2 blocks until they had reached a decision on what they were going to do. That way no-one could complain as everyone would have had the full info before purchasing a ticket.

The Club encourages us to use the online ticket system.
Bought two tickets online just after 9am on Monday for Block 19 on the assumption that it was "unreserved seating" .
Tickets arrived this morning for Row A seats 1 and 2 LOL!
I really hope the Club can offer an alternative.
It may be the right decision for next season, but the timing of the announcement is wrong, and is bound to cause confusion on the night.

Come on people STFC are pretty flexible. Why not ring up and change your seats? I think in a lot of people's eyes, it's far easier to just ignore the fact that they have to sit in specific seats and carry on like they have done all season. Not saying that's the right way to go about it, but it's what will happen.

Send them to the correct turnstile? What and then let them just walk along the pitch side concourse to any block?! I would assume that they will have Stewards at the bottom of the steps in all blocks telling fans that they are or aren't in the right area?

Firstly why is anyone surprised ? The behaviour of certain fans last week was unacceptable.
STFC who lets remember granted fans wishes of unreserved seating in the first place have had to revert to type.
If your unhappy then try and change your seat STFC will try and do this for you..they don't have to.
If your still unhappy go and tell the morons who have screwed it up for the majority what you think it is their fault not the Clubs.
Finally we have been through the sit in your allocated seat on previous threads, not to do so is disrespectful to other fans and will of course add to the problems in "big" games such as these.

I'll go down to the ticket office later to see if I can change them. The seats we're normally in are taken having looked on the stadium plan where you can buy tickets online, but there's some free a few seats away from it so I'll have to nip it in the bud on this occasion and go for them whilst they are there and I have to sort it out with all my mates which is annoying.
I can still see massive confusion, not everybody is online or read the official website. They will be unaware that they have scrapped it.

Obviously there wont be too many people with this problem, but if the club had decided on this policy before selling tickets in these blocks it would have been a lot fairer on people buying tickets. Assuming the 3 tickets are in an area of block 19 where people will be stood, you should be able to get 4 people stood in block of 3 seats. Appreciate that it's technically illegal etc, but it's what I'd do in your position. It's probably the right decision to make the block unreserved for games of this magnitude, but the club have gone about this in a poor fashion. As mentioned before, those who've bought their tickets before today, and don't frequent here or the official site will be unaware of this new policy, and those who are aware of it and have ended up with rubbish seats or cut adrift from their mates, based on the assumption that the block was unreserved, are likely to ignore it. There's a possibility of chaos next Friday, and it's going to take more than a couple of extra stewards at the turnstiles to prevent it.

But good luck with that decision not to sit in your allocated seat, I know of a number of individuals who have bought tickets for that block, hopefully you won't be sitting in their seats! If you know what I mean?!

Didnt even know seating was unreserved! Always been asked when I buy my tickets (block 10) which row we want to sit in and have always sat there! Has this been in effect all season?
