Didnt even know seating was unreserved! Always been asked when I buy my tickets (block 10) which row we want to sit in and have always sat there! Has this been in effect all season? Only in Blocks 8 and 19.

Not sure what the price band issue is about, have adults been getting in with kids tickets? I hear that this happens . Indeed rumours abound that there are quite a few adults who possess Junior Season Tickets and / or regularly enter as the "child" part of a Family Ticket . Perhaps if these "supporters" paid the correct price over a season it would pay for the teles to be fixed ?? !!

The Club encourages us to use the online ticket system. Bought two tickets online just after 9am on Monday for Block 19 on the assumption that it was "unreserved seating" . Tickets arrived this morning for Row A seats 1 and 2 LOL! I really hope the Club can offer an alternative. It may be the right decision for next season, but the timing of the announcement is wrong, and is bound to cause confusion on the night. Those seats will be in demand by some of our less savoury "fans" ! Put them on e-bay and buy two more - you might just make a profit !!

Not unexpected and the only way to ensure only folk with correct tickets occupy block 19 I think you may find standing for the whole game will not be tolerated either as they wouldn't be able to enforce allocated seats

I would also add that if purchasing student tickets online there is no check in place to ensure you are a student.

Well there's going to be a check before you reach the turnstile Just hope all have proof otherwise chaos or many annoyed fans Couldn't be done by the turnstile operators as this would cause immense queue's whilst they argued the toss with stroppy fans.................

The sort of people who come to cause trouble will be determined to sit where they want to.
Unless there is firm and decisive stewarding, something there has been little evidence of to date, I expect more problems.
I guess, despite the tannoy announcement, those caught on CCTV on the pitch last week have not been banned?

Wouldn't surpirse me if Block 19 is closed next season and I'm not sure that would be a bad thing considering some of the nob-ends that congregate there.

I think the best thing would be to have had 2-3 unreserved 'singing' blocks in the South Stand from the day we moved in. The atmosphere the first season was dreadful as everyone was spread out and now there are too many people with ST's in the Salop Liesure Stand to shift without it being unfair to them. If the people who want to sing had been encouraged by the club to gather behind the goal a lot of the problem would have been avoided.
I have been standing in block 19 all season because I like to make some noise, but would much rather not be in with some of the people there. But if it is blocked-off next season like it was the first season I think the atmosphere will suffer. Tricky one really.

Yeh, I feel sorry for all the decent fans in Block 19. Would be great to see 2-3 singing blocks in the South Stand though agree with Omar, probably needs some thought as to how this could now be achieved considering the number of 'quiet' STH's that will renew there existing seats next season. A difficult one....

viewfromblock2? ?? why on earth should block 19 be shut next season?? one game a few idiots and all of a sudden you think we shut it!! ive stood in block 19 all season and yeah i engage in banter i.e singing and chanting at the away fans are you calling me a knobend?? if it wasnt for block 18/19 there are sone games that would have been totally lifeless this season, I cannot believe another shrews fan and to be fair alot of other posters on certain threads look down there noses and those of us that enjoy the banter in block 19. We all go to the games to see the town win games and enjoy, but just because you prefer a different experience does that make you more of a fan or those in block 19 less of a fan?? the only knobends in block 19 are those from last sat and that is one game!! and dont be so naive to think that they wouldnt have done what they did een if they were in the south stand. Im fairly new to this forum and im a bit tired of people saying oh southstand this and west stand that or block 19 are idiots when it comes to that second leg we ALL will behind the town!!!! some of you need to get over yourselves do you really think the banter in block 19 ( normally) is any different to eevery single football league ground in the country??

Read my post again. The bit that says "some of", i.e. the 'nob-ends' that have led to this decision being taken in the first place. You should be p**sed off with them not anybody else.
Oh and don't be so bloody touchy!

If 'sit anywhere' is scrapped then the club must pull out all the stops to make this clear to Block 19 fans on Friday.
'A' Boards at the entrance to the ground, on queuing at the turnstiles, at the buffet, at the bottom of the steps and in the concourse. Plus also through the turnstile operators and 18/19 stewards who I would expect to be walking up and down the steps informing fans as they look for their seats. Some notices in The Powerleague bar and on the coaches would also be a good idea.
No confusion, no hassle, no trouble.

Not happy about this, I bought my ticket for the front of block 8 whilst it was still sit where you like. It was the number on my season ticket. I'm not going to sit there, I'm going to sit where I normally sit with my mates in the block and will not be moving. To be honest I didn't know Block 8 was unallocated seating? But good luck with that decision not to sit in your allocated seat, I know of a number of individuals who have bought tickets for that block, hopefully you won't be sitting in their seats! If you know what I mean?! Well if you read my post after that one I said that I'd get tickets for a seat near it as there are some available. However, I went to the ticket office either side of going to Town (1pmish and just before they shut at 7pm) and they said they can't do anything as the ticketing system has gone into melt down both times. They're really screwing me over Let's see what Monday brings.

Chill mate, before you explode with anger, and look at the bigger picture. I sit in Block16, why, because, being a lot older than many, me and my mate prefer a seat on the halfway line and can now afford the price difference. Years ago i was a WakemanEnder and before that a Stationender. And yes, it is quieter, but we still stand up on occassions and give the ref, linesman, oppossing players s**te and sing , and can feel the looks of disapproval from others around, but hey, its in the blood. If i was a lot younger i would be sitting in Block 19 giving it full throttle. The problem is, that not everyone was aware of the sit anywhere option for Block 19, and so those who probably came for the first time, or got a ticket for Block 19 for the first time, were surprised that someone was in their allotted seat. You also got the idiots who thought it big to cause trouble or, as i am led to believe, came from a small town up the A5. The Club have made two mistakes,(1), not making it public that Block 19 is a Sit/stand anywhere Block, and (2) now changing this for ONE GAME ONLY. Why i don't know, but it is a decision that will upset more than it appeases. Your biggest problem is in getting the Club to revert BLOCK 19 to what it has been for the main part of the season. I believe that once you have lost this, as will happen for next Fridays game, then you may as well kiss it goodbye for all of next season. Good luck, and keep singing/chanting whatever you do. COYB.

baystonblue you asked me to chill then launch into your own rant at me! lol (which you are prefectlt entitled to do I am not disputing that) I have no issue for making it reserved seating for sell out games I agree it does cause problems the sit where you like during sell put games my post was refering to closing block 19 next season, everyone enjoys the game from different areas but we are not all idiots in there thats all I was saying

No, if you read it again my point is that i agree with all your points. I agree that Block 19 should be kept open next season, AND, that it should be on the same terms as this season, that is, sit anywhere. The Club just need to let fans know when they buy a ticket that it is sit anywhere. Then you won't have the situation were newcomers or "one match wonders" come along and start moaning etc that 3 lads are standing in their seated area( and singing and shouting ---- what terrible behaviour.)
