Very sad news, RIP Ed.
I have known his mother for 35 years, who went to school with my wife. We spoke to her a while ago when she told us his illness had returned.
I haven't seen him since he was very young, but he seemed very positive from what she told us.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends, certainly puts things into perspective!

Tragically young age. Sounds like the lad confronted this awful situation with a great deal of fortitude and courage. RIP.

Awful news, I spoke to Ed the day before the Cheltenham game as I purchased his tickets.
Sounded a great guy and was confident the town were going up, let's hope so as it would be a fitting tribute.

If appropriate it would be nice to have a B&A collection for any charity that his family would like to designate.

i see from his posts that his last post was 'just back' from the rotherham game, i think he was living in sheffield at uni
his avatar was the 'famous tyre' from the bucks head (2003) i often saw he had that and wondered why the hell he chose it ;D
it really is a mighty shame that town didn't gain promotion on saturday and maybe give the poor lad one last smile
i really hope town players see this thread and dedicate a great performance on saturday to him
(if anyone connected with STFC are reading this, please print it out and let all the players read it before saturday)
i repeat
RIP Ed

Hopefully those close to the situation won't mind, but since this tragic story's because of Lymphoma I thought this was the right place to put it - don't see the need for a seperate thread due to the location. For those in and around the Derby area next Thursday evening, the Lymphoma Association are holding a charity football match with ex-Rams stars, including current manager Nigel Clough against a team of soap stars. Tickets are only £5/£3 concessions obviously with proceeds going to the Lymphoma Association itself and the Shannon Bradshaw Trust for children with life-threatening illnesses. If anyone's in the area and can make it I'd strongly recommend you support it, it's been arranged by an old friend of mine (and founding Burton Supporters team member for those ASFCers reading this) who tragically lost his daughter to Lymphoma a few years ago, she was about the same age as Ed so this is really something that needs all the money for research it can get. Details at www.lymphomas.org.uk/news/news.asp?newsid=190 and a story on Clough's involvement in it at www.burtonmail.co.uk/News/Clough-turns-back-the-clock-to-run-out-for-charity-match-10052011.htm

Very sad news.
I only met Ed once in February when some kind B&Aers gave me a lift to Lincoln away... we had a grand night out and he seemed like a great lad.
