Thanks STFC My Name- Dana Power (Mr) Age - 55 I will be running this years marathon in aid of Camerons fund@asthmauk, Cameron was a local boy (Bridgnorth) who died of asthma aged just 2yrs 4 mths, I took up running 2yrs ago after watching the Great north run on TV and thought ' i wouldnt mind doing that' so sent an application off, when the reply came back saying i had been accepted i knew i had to start training, so went round some quite lanes around Bridgnorth where no one could see me, after a few months i could do 5 miles without keeling over, so progressed to local 10k runs ( Market drayton+ Newport) then upped it to half marathons, first one was the Ironbridge, done that in 2rs 7 mins, then came the Great north, which was an amazing experience, 1 hr 57, then decided to try for the full distance of a marathon, as my wife had a brother living in New Jersey, decided to go for the New York marathon in November 2010, that too was an unforgetable experience, after suffering severe stomach and calf cramps around the 19 mile mark i struggled over the finish line in Central park in 4hrs 36 mins, i had got the running bug by now so entered the London marathon 2011, I will be happy if i can finish it around the 4hr mark, which for only my 2nd marathon i will be really chuffed, just giving page is http;//www.justgiving.com/Dana-Power55

Name: John Grove Age: 40 Why your running: In memory of my dad and to raise some money for charity, and a challenge! Estimated finish time: Around 4 hrs, hopefully just under. Will be happy with anything from 4hr - 4hr 15min. And who you're running for: I am running for Leukaemia Research. My dad (a fellow town fan) died from Leukaemia in may 2006, so trying to raise money in his memory. Running history: This is my first marathon (and probably the last!). Previous running events are a Cancer Research 10km in 2006, Blackpool half marathon 2007 (unfortunately the friend I was running with collapsed at 8 miles and spent the rest of the day in hospital, so I didn't post a finish!), and Great North Run in 2008 which I completed in 2hr 1min. After that I stopped running until now and training for london!
I don't have a JustGiving page, still using sponsor forms!

Name Martin Berry Age 46 I am running in memory of my mother-in-law Audrey Kirby, who passed away in October 2010 after a 20 year battle with Parkinsons. However hard the pain of the marathon is I know it is nothing compared to what Audrey went through in the last two weeks of her life. This will be my sixth and final marathon and I am hoping to get somewhere close to finishing in four and a half hours. I am raising money for Parkinsons UK and would be very grateful for any donations which can be made via uk.virginmoneygiving.com/MartinBerry1

Chris Ellis 35 This will be my third London Marathon and I aiming to complete it in under 3 Hours 30 mins. I have decided to fundraise for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) in memory of my Uncle Mike (of Weston Rhyn, nr Oswestry) who suddenly past away two years ago. The BHF wants to create a world where people don't die prematurely from heart disease - they aim to achieve this through pioneering research, vital prevention activity and ensuring quality care and support for everyone living with heart disease. Good Luck to all running, I've just signed upto a 25k at the end of July then the Cardiff half in October but the thought of even attempting a marathon petrifies me mostly as I don't do quick I just seem to settle into my plodding pace so I'd be out there forever
But hats off to you all for the dedication of training its an awesome achievement both personally and on behalf of any charities that you have opted to support I'll be working half nights Saturday but will still be up Sunday morning to support albeit from the comfort of my sofa

Unfortunately, I have had to withdraw from this years marathon. I have been battling an ankle injury for the last 4 weeks, and have had to concede defeat tonight! Gutted!!!
Will still be going down as a frustrated spectator, so good luck to all that are running.
At least I have got plenty of time to train for 2012!!

Good Luck everyone In my experience it is about 20% physical and 80% mental! (That might be because of the little training I managed beforehand.) Picture yourself running past Bucky Palace with the crowds going wild and it WILL happen. The support all the way around is amazing- especially with your name easily read on the front of your vest. I can honestly say it is still one of the best days of my life.

Forcing yourself to do the training and then coping with the tricks your mind plays on you during the run.
