I guess events like this is what you get for a 10k " donation" to the club....
I notice on there website is states "This money will be used for specific projects that benefit Shrewsbury Town - more details to follow in the Port Vale programme. "
Anyone see this, what was the result of this 10k (a lot of money to be fair to them?)
Im pretty intrested to see where this ended up...
im pretty cycnical about the superblues, no doubt they are great at raisning money, and that they give to to the town (paid for tunnles and other bits for the club over th years) but how much that benifits town fans in general... I guess you should say why should it? Well lets be honest 10k could light the path, sort the tvs out in the west stand and put a fair chunk of colour/decoration in the concourses.....
Seems crazy that we complain about these things then nothing gets done, and the money supporters do raise just goes on bying fixtures and fitting for the club, they should be paying for anyway?
Might just be me being cycnical, and no dount I will be shown to be totally wrong and the Vale proggy states that that 10k was spent on something usefull instead?

Ask Andygroundo - their funding helped the pitch improvements, but I don't know exactly what they paid for and of course they paid for the gate at the back of the West Stand on to the footpath As you say, it could be argued that the club should pay for these things, but supporters have always raised money for the club - if they didn't we would not have made progress over the years. I guess they talk to the club and find out what the priorities are what is there to be cynical about? I pay my £1 a week and will continue to do so. My only complaint is that I don't remember hearing about this event until this week - I suppose I should check the website

They did indeed pay for the pitch renovation at the end of last season. We can all see the benefit of that and the manager, coaching staff and players love our pitch.( We just need some decent officials on it)Those travelling to our next two games will see how lucky we are to have such a decent surface. The most recent donation was for the improvements at the away end and other things I believe.

Just me, fixing a pitch building a security gate, sorting out he away end ect should really be the remit of the buisness...
Just seems backwards that the club seem recluctant to fix/sort things that fans have been asking about for a while, while fans give them reasonable amounts that pay for things that would have to be sorted by the club anyway...
Surely someone gets what im going on about?

Superblues do do a great job and get my £1 per week but i do have a concern , not what they spend the money on, but one way they raise it.......... or part of it Profits from away travel! Which could be seen as charging the most loyal fans over the odds to make a profit to give to the club. I know they have to cover the costs of empty seats on quieter trips but usually on these trips we take a half empty 'away supporters' coach and a half empty 'official supporters, coach Why do we have two different groups doing the same job ?

Exactly, but it puts the cost of travel up for loyal fans There was never a problem when we had just the one group organising it (Chris Smith) so I really don't know why the other option was introduced. Strange, but oh well!

Was wrong to make the GT evening exclusively for Super Blues members IMO, surely free entry for Super Blues members and then maybe a admission fee for non members would have sufficed?

Surely someone gets what im going on about? Of course our kid, you are coming over loud and clear. Maybe it’s just how things have always been done? In times gone by the club would have perhaps struggling to find the additional cash to fund the work that’s been done of late. I doubt that’s the case now but with that in mind, maybe the Super Blues still see their role as providing valuable funds to the club for the day to day running of the club rather than looking to enhance the supporters match day experience? You could argue that the funds have gone towards things that were essential for the club. You could argue that fixing TV’s, brightening up the stands etc isn’t. Ask the club what they would rather spend the money on and I think that is the direction the Super Blues would be happy to follow, I think that’s what they are about isn’t it? The profits from the away travel is a strange one...

I couldn't go and wouldn't mind some feedback either.
Just for the record it wasn't the Superblues who were holding events and charging £1 for entry.

No-one has yet mentioned the reason why there are 2 away travel groups. The reason is Chris Smith, because for whatever reason, the people running the OSC coaches won't have anything to do with any organisation he is involved with - they wouldn't buy xmas raffle tickets because it was run by the superblues I think they are wrong, because Chris has done a fantastic amount for the club over the years, and as daveycrockett says, he will run the half-full coaches to the minor mid week away games. To be fair I think the prices charged by both coaches are pretty fais compared to prices you hear other clubs quoting (but I may be behind the times on that) Any one is free to run coaches, and other people have done so in the past, and good luck to them, because it not an easy job, but it a shame when people won't work together It would be easy to just ignore this, but people are asking the questions and this is the reality

Quite laughable really!

I was in attendance. We were asked not to put the information on websites. Before you all go up in the air, I can see why. Graham was his usual honest self.
As we seem to be having a "let's beat the superblues to death with a stick", the £10,000, as far as I know, was used to improve security between the West and North stand.

Dear oh dear what a sad state of affairs. The powers that be are actually encouraging the fan base to isolate themselves from each other and the club itself by letting this happen all because of big ego's and silly quibbles.

Just for the record I was not criticising either group (especially knocking Superblues) just seems a pity they cant work together to reduce costs and fill more empty seats and not aim to make a profit from loyal fans............ All concerned work very hard for the club More interested what secrets were divulged yesterday but might have to wait till tomorrow to find out
