Every time the page refreshes and I see that "New" icon on the side of the topic, it's always last post by Pilch. The same Pilch who has moaned several times about this thread being so alive compared to the Gerrard one Also, I didn't defend Gerrard, I just said rules are rules. Stupid rules but rules none the less. Unless Clattenburg has eyes where his ears should be he wouldn't have seen that, and it appears he's pretending he did, that's what I don't understand

just heard that after seeing the referee's report, the FA have charged James MaCarthy with headbuting Wayne Rooney's elbow! ;-)

Just seen incident for 1st time.
For me, FA should throw the book at Rooney. As talented as he is (at times), he is just scumbag, a petulant little scouse street urchin who loses his rag far too quickly. They wern't competing for an aerial challenge, Rooney was chasing and harrying the centre back so his elbow shouldnt be anywhere near the Wigan players head. Mccarthy is lucky contact was on his ear, that could of easily been a fractured eye socket.

Clattenburg says he saw it, although i'm not so sure.

Thought clattenburg stopped the game becuase of a head injury rather than him seeing anything of the incident.
A major cop out by the football authorities not to deal with this situation.

I read this morning that FIFA is a factor. Apparently they were annoyed when the FA punished Ben Thatcher for his assult on Mendes in 2006 as the ref had booked him at the time. It all comes back to the video technology debate where FIFA is stubborn to the core.

Toss up who i have the lesser time for Clattenburg , Rooney or Fifa?!
Had the displeasure of being refereed by Mr Clattenburg during his meteoric rise to the premiership and he retains all the qualities he had then, inconsistant, controversial for the sake of it and a few column inches and rotten to the core.
Rooney is a disgrace, a bundle of talent underneath the head/mind of a sulky ten yr old. No excuse for the flying elbow, the constant expletives aimed in the direction of referees week in week out when it doesnt go his way and will never ultimately forgive him for the pathetic showing at the world cup and the sarcastic jibe at all the traveling fans .
Dont get me started on Fifa, "wernt happy that the FA punished Thatcher?" Punish Rooney anyway, what are they going to do take a world cup off us??!!

Justice? Only if McCarthy now takes out Luiz player and gets away with it.
