Yep, no idea what Clattenburg was doing, means Rooney will more than likely escape punishment...again.

So when Utd have a decision go against them, its a Fergie interview, and he slates the ref ... A decision for them, and Phelan is wheeled out with 'well, the ref is there to take charge of the game and we should respect the decision' ...

Love the title of the thread I thought one of our more 'radical' supporters had beaten up some old lady. As I see it, the defender moved, off the ball, to block Rooneys's run. Rooney tried to get him out of the way but, istead of barging straight into him, he raised his forearm and swung it at him. Simple really; he raised his arm and caight him somewhere on the head. Straight red - no doubt - but would the thread be titled "Shrewsbury Town thug" if exactly the same thing had occured withy one of your players? I think probably not

To be fair I had forgotten about that one, and it is almost exactly the same as Rooney's yesterday!

oh and it was a decision against them the ref gave a free kick Forgetting all the United v Liverpool stuff on this thread, the strangest thing is that he could see the incident, give a free kick and not produce a card of any sort - strange reffing

Well, it puts a League 2 ref missing a blatant elbow into perspective!

the ref was trying to be clever, its obvious he never saw the incident as it would have been a red card
hes tried to guess what happened and obviously thought it was a shoulder barge or similar
ref now looks a prat as i said after the gerrard one, its time the fa ignored what the ref saw or didnt see, the cameras saw it and thats all that should matter

I heard it talked about on the radio. At first I thought it must have been a challenge for a header where he used his arm to jump higher and caught him, but having seen it now I cant see how he can get away with that, it's not like he slightly raised his hand, it was blatantly raised and smashed into his face. And it was totally needless too

Forgetting all the United v Liverpool stuff on this thread, Impossible Scoot, how anyone can defend any player that does that is incredable. Twist it, turn it, claim ignorance but what Rooney did yetserday was an assault nothing less. I don't care what team a player represents it is simply awful. I truely hope those that follow the Premiers**te can understand there part in this.

The incident itself was a cowardly act, but the person who should now be brought to account is Clattenberg!!
If as he claims, he saw it, then he should be asked why he felt it was nothing more than a cuddle for shrek!!
ask him to review it, and ask him he thinks he made a mistake. if he agrees then retrospective action should be taken, if he still believes he has acted in accordance with the rules, then he should be banned from refffing for a period of time!!

f*cking hell there are some sad mugs on here. Man Utd this, Man Utd that. Showing yourselves to be more bitter than the scousers.
Yawn yawn yawn.
And talking of 'blinkers' I've never known an era of Shrewsbury fans so naive as to what goes on on a football pitch. Crying out for a red card when Harrold ran into the defenders elbow yesterday. Yes it was a bad one, but every man and his dog could see that the defender didnt know anyone was behind him. Christ you lot are biased as that 'Shrewsbury can do no wrong', 'David Davis has more in his locker than Karl Henry' idiot Steve Cross on the radio.
Yawn yawn yawn, bore off
