Surprised you can spell the word SUBTLETY, well done. Surprised you cannot follow your own advice and show a bit more subtlety with your own posts, as the above proves. I do, however, feel that i must apologise to you, as i thought you were a Man U. fan. From the answer you give above it is obvious you are a Liverpool fan.

Worst bit was the referee putting his arm round Rooney.

Just watched Match of the Day, they didn't mention anything. What's he supposed to have done ? I take it you don't watch the talking after the match is over, when they showed it a couple of times and talked about it.

Just saw it now on YouTube. Defo red card. Simply went out to cause harm to the other chap.
About it being a man's game? I think that's way off, nothing to do with what we saw there. For those who play football week in and week out you find that sort of thing nowt but disgusting. He is going out with intent to harm another player. w****r in my book...
And that should be looked at by the powers that be and he should be punished...

Missed most football this weekend, including this. and most youtube clips have been taken down now. From the dodgy one i have seen though, it does look deliberate. Guess the ref just presumed it was a clash, if he missed it he missed it, but surely the FA should have a look?
Was it even given as a foul??

This one didn't get as much attention as the Rooney one is getting:
Both this and Rooney's were thuggish acts that were acted on by the ref, but no FA action was taken. Expect Rooney will get away with it.

Check page 1 of this thread I already mentioned the gerrard one Got a link to the thread too Well if you can call it a thread, unlike this one it didn't have a lot of interest

That Gerrard incident got at least as much coverage, and to suggest otherwise is nonsense

I think the one that really stands out was Ben Thatcher on Mendes, that was shocking...
Agree that one from Gerrard was just as bad as Rooney's at the weekend...defo went out of his way to harm the player...

FA have just announced no action will be taken. Its therefore legal then

It's the fault of the fa They make the rules and should change them asap
In this case united could rightly argue in court that it was dealt with by the ref and therefore rules say no further action
Everyone knows this is wrong The fa are just up their own arses

FA have just announced no action will be taken. Its therefore legal then Appears his manager thinks its a part of the game as well. Daft thing to say from Ferguson. I'm not too sure why we see folk in football talk such s**te when there are TV cameras everywhere in the game today that pick up everything... There was something in it quite clearly. He went out to harm another player. Rum.

Well it seems Mr Clattenberg still thinks he got the correct decision, therefore in my opinion he should now be struck off until retrained. surely that is the point that needs debating!!

For those that missed it MotD this is what they showed after the match was shown. ahh i can see what happened now, watch it right at the end in super slow mo the cheat from wigan saw rooney coming, tried a lame attempt to body check him, rooney started to move to avoid him and then the wigan player thrusts his arm out i think he deserved a clip around the ear ;-)

Clattenburg has previous in favouring Man Utd only this season with the non-sensical play on and the Nani goal versus Gomez.
