Given the various incidents towards the end of the season (Port Vale, Sheff Wed and Luton) this is not a good start to the season.
After a trouble free WC it is disappointing in the extreme and can just hope it's not a sign of things to come.

Just the time to reduce the Police Force by 60,000 isnt it

Just the time to reduce the Police Force by 60,000 isnt it I've got my doubts about the level of cutting but that's another issue. The luxuries and excesses of the football world won't be tolerated by this government - if there's an increase in trouble I can see the bills coming to the clubs - either through one-off bills for incidents incurring high policing costs (though hard to prove/bill if they happen in a town centre) or more likely removal of licences/games behind closed doors. If this becomes a regular thing again the government/tax payer won't tolerate picking up the tab like the bad old days.

We're heading back to the eighties in more ways than one!
Remember that exchange between Thatcher and Ted Croker?

I have a bad feeling about what's going to happen between supporters this season.

I have a bad feeling about what's going to happen between supporters this season. In my opinion stfc have one of the most good natured support out there. I wouldnt feel at all on edge as an away fan visitng the Meadow. I cant see to much trouble at Shrewsbury this season

I have a bad feeling about what's going to happen between supporters this season. Im sure the police be on full alert now Dont we normally hear the same "football hooliganism is returning to the bad old days"when there is some sort of incident but in reality 99% of games pass off peacefully Yes there were some incidents at the end of last season but there is most season as that is the time when theres a lot riding on the game and emotions run high Football hooliganism will never go away completely but with CCTV, the current policing and high penalties if caught, then its certainly something that is very rare. Despite Danny Dyers best efforts

Fair play Marcus you made me chuckle there....perhaps the poor needy thugs can direct their anger at the 10 million voters who voted Conservative instead of each other.....

Its gonna be the most hooligan active season since the 1989. I have good information that this is just the tip of the iceberg.

It wont return to the bad old days. Nothing new has happened this preseason which doesnt happen most pre seasons.
Pre season freindlies invite hooligan activities because firms get the chance to meet other firms they ain't met for years also police presence is down as I suppose its hard to predict ticket sales for friendlies. Lets be honest the games which have been trouble were Chester v Ciolwyn Bay(Wrexham) Hull v York(Yorkshire Derby) Sheff v Grimsby(localish) if these were league or cup fixtures police would of dealt with it.

Good point there, remember when we played Wolves at GM. Had that been a competitive game the trouble wouldnt have happened because of there would have been a massive police presence

Yes have them at tropuble hot spots etc but where I live theres 2 they fitted one in a playing field 2 years back yet no one uses it. Before or after they installed it. If I wanted me every move to be recorded Id of gone on big brother

Hooliganism is and will be on the rise this season. As to going back to the days of the Early nineties than I doubt it very much, but the terrace casual is defiantly back in vogue

I don't understand why would you find CCTV at football grounds or in general a bugger ? my problem with cctv, is on 2 levels. it is used as a replacement for policemen on the beat, and it is somewhat oppressive, big brother is always watching you.

But we are specifically talking about CCTV at a football ground.
I can't understand why people see their arse over it.

What are you trying to say with the like minded thing also, you don't have a clue about what i'm like if your judging me by posts i make on here.
