yeah yeah, whatever, i make you laugh, same old story. rather than attempt a patronising response, why dont you defend the policies? dont you agree with them? blinkered? did you not read the bit where i said i agreed with Ken Clarke? hardly blinkered. I think you need to have a look at yourself chap, inane means lacking in substance, which describes your posts much better than mine. just out of interest, what do you think my stereotype is? I'm not a labour voter, not a liberal voter and certainly not a tory voter. I think the problem here is that you dont have a box to put me in, so you come back to your stereotype, which is to call anything you dont undertstand a nasty old red. You , matron and to a lesser extent jamo are part of the problem, too wrapped up in your view that the party system works. flogging a dead horse There you go again.... brilliant

We're heading back to the eighties in more ways than one! Remember that exchange between Thatcher and Ted Croker? i was thinking a similar thing, i suppose thats what happens when the country is unhappy about the injustice of the poor being squeeze because of the mistakes that werent made by them. i expect full scale riots within a year. Blokes were kicking lumps out of each other during the "boom" years Marcus. You don't even have to be disenfranchised from society either. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/teacher-jailed-for-planning-football-riot-at-rail-station-562588.htmlPre-season games are an easy target for blokes who want a punch up, especially at grounds outside the football league, due to the minimum amount of stewarding, policing and CCTV. Is there a rise in football related disorder? Probably. I put this down to the amount of "hoolie porn" and tw@ts like Danny Dyer.

Pab, sadly another simple issue passes over your wrinkled brow. The term civil unrest had been mentioned earlier in the thread regarding fighting at football. Another member of this board said we can expect more of this. My post was to highlight a couple of issues, firstly that it is possible to hold a demonstration without violence and in the second instance that however large a demonstration is held it does not necessarily mean the Government will listen, hence the 1 million figure in the post. So when whatever happens happens and this nasty Government ignore the "people" lets remember others have done before in far greater number. I would also add that you and Marcus really shouldn't judge everybody that voted Conservative (daft fools quote Marcus) as people who don't care. You should also wake up to the fact that it wasn't solely the bankers that got us into this mess. my brow is not wrinkled you arse. thanks for that, your explanation makes sense, but can you relate it to the context i was addressing ie, and i quote jonah. Where were the 'army of ametuers and the hamstrung watchdogs'when labour took us into an illegal war and then ignored the credit disaster as it crept up on us?I just picked up on Monkees rambling Matron. He was suggesting the present lot would ignore advice and I just pointed out that the previous lot had done exactly the same. Also I believe that 11000 pages of tax does need reforming dont you? There again its change isnt it?

[ I just picked up on Monkees rambling Matron. He was suggesting the present lot would ignore advice and I just pointed out that the previous lot had done exactly the same. Also I believe that 11000 pages of tax does need reforming dont you? There again its change isnt it? err ok then thanks. as for tax reforms, i have no idea. im one of the plebs who has nothing to do with the tax office, and absolutely no understanding of tax law, legislation ect, so i am not in a position to make a judgement. they merely take £900+ a month out of my salary before it even gets close to my bank account. do you know what those 11000 pages are? if so i commend you, if not, how do you know they need reforming? the qango comment is very relavant, with one breath they said there is too much, with the next they set one up. if they said that they wanted to scrap all the qangos that they are ideologically opposed to, at least that would be honest. i think that organisations like advantage west midlands do a fantastic job, providing an £8 return for every £1 they invest. the goverment are going to abolish them. why? poor investment? hardly. so what will do our region more good do you think, reforming the 11000 page tax book or continuing an organisation like AWM?

You should also wake up to the fact that it wasn't solely the bankers that got us into this mess. Go on then, can't resist this one Give me some other reasons why we are in this finacial mess apart from worldwide financial greed and incompetence from the major international financial institutions ?
