While I haven't quite joined the doom and gloom merchants regarding our transfers yet, it is a slight concern that our summer dealings so far seem to be 3 first team players out, 1 and a half in, and (perhaps more worryingly) several 'targets' choosing to go elsewhere. So when is the right time to panic?

Only on the basis if we sign no more players (which clearly won't happen). Other than that i won't be panicking, i firmly believe we have the right man at the helm.

Well most people love something to moan about. I honestly can't see anything to gripe about at the moment, i may go down and see if the path next to the railway has been tarmaced yet - then watch me fly.

Good post, if it want for Roland there would be no Shrewsbury town in the football league. we would of ended up like Wrexham or worse Chester. I cant believe that some called shrews fans are already thinking of pushing the panic button because there has been little action in the transfer market, most prem clubs dont start there pre season till next week and im sure mr Turner will be looking at the young players that may not quite make it this year at a higher level and may go the loan route that has worked well at other clubs.

. So when is the right time to panic? When Mr Trewick arrived.. Agree Alan, I wonder just what the pulling power and attraction for players is since his arrival, rumblings of old fashioned/old school uninspiring training sessions etc at Hereford & rumblings of player unrest under his charge at Edgar Street etc - players and agents talk and nothing since his arrival has been too inspiring and uplifting, I don't buy all this patience is a virtue stuff and good quality signings will be made in good time mullarkey. Those around us in league 2 are strengthening on an almost daily basis whilst we appear to be almost motionless, quotes from the club of announcements in a few days time have been reeled out on more than just 1 occasion and have been found wanting on each occasion - I sincerely hope that I am proven wrong and that GT pulls more than just 1 rabbit out of the hat but I have a feeling that STFC will be represented by a large portion of loan players throughout 2010/2011 - Something I don't really warm and adhere too.

Disagree with peoples negativity towards Trewick and the supposed 'old fashion methods'. Trewick is actually a well respected coach, obviously no manager, but a good coach at that. On the subject of training i think that what the coaches are doing is exactly what the squad need and that is STRENGTH. To get out of League Two you need to have a big strong squad. The likes of Bradshaw and other younger players will start the season stronger and thats only beneficial to us. On the point of the uninspiring training sessions, i think the players actually find them to be the complete opposite. Speaking to a couple of players they both said that the training was better and enjoyable. Also metioning that the new staff seemed excellent and had some good plans Signings will arrive and they may be loans but if they get us promotion knowbody will care! Patience is key, im sure Ainsworth will sign, which would be a quality addition with hopefully more to follow with the same standard. Keep calm and relax and let Turner wave his magic wand

If by Sunday night no more players have arrived, it'll be the first time I'll question whats going on. Its not just the once "players should arrive this week or the beginning of next" has been stated. Sadler I suppose, tbf, counts in that statement.
Come on Jamo, reassure us.. when is Ainsworth signing if at all?, and is Theo Robinson just a dream rumour?

So we've bought in a center-half and a left-back. What players are we still in need of? I guess a keeper, another central defender as cover, a creative center-mid, a fast right-winger and a striker?

So RW, Trewick and GT have all taken stick in this thread. Without the chairman we most likely would at best be a struggling club in a wreck of a ground. Let's give them a break and let them get on with it. The time for any negativity is a couple of months into the season if things are going badly.

Panic! Why on earth in the early days of July would folk be even contemplating panic.
We have a manager who will bring in the right players at the right price, using a mixture of loan and permanent signings as his budget allows.
Already in are 2 quality signings and working with the current squad will be paying dividends no doubt. Coaching and improvement from within is something the club has sadly lacked over the last two years and some players could and should step up considerably on last years performance.
As already mentioned plenty of rumours around and some quite close to fruition, however what i do know is we have far more irons in fires than just "WBA Reserves"or " youtube" and in Turner we should trust. He has contacts and wont overpay just to satisfy clammers for these wow signings.
Keep the faith.

Can't see any real reason to panic anytime soon. Though if we were to start the season without another signing or two then I would certainly have to raise at least one eyebrow.

Sounds about right.
I don't particularly care if the keeper and centre-half cover are loan signings, but I do think we need a high-class permanent signing in the other three as they're all key, especially the centre-mid.
I'm not panicking yet though, as there's still plenty of time until the season and GT and JT are both being quite vocal about the fact they're working to sign more players.

Amazing that some Town fans can be experts in getting out of this division compared to our new manager. At least he has some experience at what it takes to get promoted to league 1 - unlike us or any of the last few managers we've had. Shut up, and keep quiet and see where we are at Christmas

Trewick is part of a coaching team, he'll have his strengths and his weaknesses, just like Mike Jackson and GT. It's how that team works together is the key.
Trewick and Turner have experienced two promotions together and with Jackson as a new coach who knows this group of players we may have a good backroom staff. Talking to players at the end of season wards in May they remarked on how much they enjoyed Jackson's training sessions. So lets wait and see.
GT himself has talked about "managing expectations" and KS at the same awards nights talked to me about " dampening expectations" and "going quietly about our business". So lets not expect too much in the way of "wow" signings and all that s**** that was spouted a couple of seasons ago.
We've already made, what look to be, two good signing. In Sharps we know what we are getting and with Sadler we have a player who has obvious pedigree. When I told my Blues supporting brother-in-law about Sadler his expressed surprise that we should get a player of such quality in the 4th division. How he does with us remains to be seen of course.
GT has his targets and is talking to them. We don't have a define right to sign anyone and there will be dozens of reasons why players chose not to come here and I doubt it will be to do with Trewick.
