I'd say that Patrick Stewart was the "muppet".

Whoever doesn't like James Corden needs to get a sense of humour.

I'd say that Patrick Stewart was the "muppet". # Totally agree, Stewart is the bully having a go at James Corden because he is 'fat'. Patrick Stewart is the one who starts it. You don't show someone up on telly like that infront of so many people. Its rude and unProfessional. Plus his second joke was awful, lets be honest someone else was yelling 'get on with it' so they all agreed!

Seriously, what is the point in james cordon? He's not funny and his only talents are being fat and loud. Hoe does that warrant an appearance on dr.who?

Corden's no comedy genius in my eyes, never been that fussed but he's gone up in my estimation after watching that.
Pompous, embarassingly leaden stuff from Stewart, Corden far too quick for him.
In this battle of wits the baldy was exposed as unarmed!

Whoever doesn't like James Corden needs to get a sense of humour. or you do, he has made a career from being a fat actor, on the coattails of some very decent actors who made him look good. if he had one ounce of the talent and ability of patrick stewart, he would be very decent but he hasnt, he is a fat posh lad who is making an awful lot of being in the right place at the right time. he should consider himself lucky to be on a stage with Patrick stewart.

Mainly because hes one hell of a script writor, reasonable producer and reasoanble actor thats got his lucky break in life. A lot of people are jealous me included that some fat, loud, cockney is on TV all the time. Fair play to the lad though i say, take advantage of good ship as its sails as you never know when the storms gonna come and sink your ship.

So because Stewart is so much more 'Talented' then him, he should have just let him attempt to humiliate him on stage?! Whatever your opinion of Cordon, thats was out of order and not even slightly funny.

Maybe 10 years time, this guy has already written another 2 series of the cult Gavin and Stacey series secretly. Hes not as dumb as you think, the popularity of that show is what shot him to great heights.

Wasn't really a hissy fit, was it? Calling Stewart a 'baldie' would have required no wit at all, just playground tit for tat, while I think the 'yeah and we're all watching you dying on stage' was quite funny. Regardless of their relative talents Stewart picked a verbal tussle with the wrong man. An easy 3-0 to Corden!

actually i said he wasnt quick witted,i didnt say dumb. dont forget he co-wrote it with Ruth Jones who he met on a show called fat friends, it seems he is happy to be called fat when it suits him. didnt think much to Gavin and Stacey although Larry Lamb, alison steadman and Rob Brydon made the show what it was, humourous rather than laugh out loud funny. i think it says a lot about the quality of comedy on the bbc that this is so popular, put it up against fawlty towers, porridge or only fools and horses and you see that it is reasonable at best.

Each to there own everyone has there tastes and styles, personally when it comes to Premier League comedy theres is only one champion and thats 'Some Mothers Do Have Em' There is nothing else that i can keep laughing at over and over again.

Must admit tend to agree 100% with Monkee's posts. Don't find him funny in the least, and will stear clear of any World Cup programme he is on. He's a FRUB.

Have to jump on the bandwagon and say I find little about Cordon funny, nay change that to nothing.
Stewart has pedigree and should not have lowered himself.
As Marcus has said in a few years time it will be Cordon who ?

Think Corden is top on Gavin and Stacey but everytime I switch on tv he's there. It's overkill and he's starting to grate! Thankfully he's on ITV (home of highbrow television!) so i'll be switching over as soon as the FT whistle goes!

Corden showed him up for the fool he really is.

Patrick Stewart rightly got what he deserved!
I thought James Corden was really good on Gavin and Stacy.
Stewart tried to make himself look big, and it backfired, beautifully.
There wasn't any need for that, especially doing it on TV!

If you watch the full video on the BBC website you see James Cordon acting like a complete prat in the background during Sir Patricks speech and interrupts him (once again trying to grab the lime light) which may change many of your opinions of who started what. James Corden is in the wrong here trying to being funny and should show more respect for an acting legend. Link------> Link
