Whoever doesn't like James Corden needs to get a sense of humour. or you do, he has made a career from being a fat actor, on the coattails of some very decent actors who made him look good. if he had one ounce of the talent and ability of patrick stewart, he would be very decent but he hasnt, he is a fat posh lad who is making an awful lot of being in the right place at the right time. he should consider himself lucky to be on a stage with Patrick stewart. I find myself in total agreement with this post and therefore the poster

Corden is the current flavour of the month and he is cashing in by being on everything he can while his fame lasts,he is a bit like a Big Brother contestant. An irritating t**t who will soon fade from our memories.
I guess in fairness to him he hasn't done bad considering he was the fat farting caretaker in Hollyoaks.

i have little idea who cordon is, never seen him perform or any of his work.
patrick stewart on the other hand is a legend, hugely talented and inteligent and i cant help thinking why oh why oh why didnt you just rise above it and let the other chap take all the credit for being a cock.

If you watch the full video on the BBC website you see James Cordon acting like a complete prat in the background during Sir Patricks speech and interrupts him (once again trying to grab the lime light) which may change many of your opinions of who started what. James Corden is in the wrong here trying to being funny and should show more respect for an acting legend. Link------> Link Stewart had already kicked it off way before he was doing this, Corden probably couldn't believe what Stewart said to him and was portraying what is this guy on? Anybody who thinks Stewart is an acting legend is talking cod s**t. Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Michael Caine, Richard Burton, Anthony Hopkins are legends and Patrick Stewart is nowhere near there class. Star Trek The Next Generation - boring not a patch on the rest of the franchise. X-men - average as far as super hero films go. Eleventh Hour, Robin Hood men in tights, Death Train and an appearence on the Simpsons. I do recall the odd TV movie he perhaps as been in. Yes he has starred in average hyped up high profile movies or series. The way he has kicked off on somebody up and coming and quite new to scene is just wrong. Its i case of I'm Patrick Stewart with my big pompous bald head and your the fat little new boy I used to bully in the playground. I don't know why people are defending Stewart, he started the row, what did Corden do to start it? If Patrick Stewart wanted to make a name for himself then why not start on at least someone a little more famous in Stewarts league like Vinny Jones?

To be honest, as onthetrain said, the reason some people don't like James Corden is because of jealousy IMO. I think he's really funny myself, and entertaining. Then again, it's all about opinions I guess.

If you watch the first part of the video Corden not only tries to be funny by acting bored walking round the stage, he also interrupts him while he's speaking.
Corden has made a name for himself off being fat, so he should have been glad that Sir Patrick Stewart brought it up. That belly is his only asset which proves to be the case later on in the video when he shows it to the crowd.

IMO Cordon is a bit of knob. Yes, he is a major part of a fairly successful situation comedy, but he's hardly the next David Jason is he? Maybe the new Richard Briers or Terry Scott The biggest problem he is likely to suffer from is overexposure (and I'm not just talking about his gut), but that mightn't happen for a while yet, just look at Ant and Dec, you can't turn ITV on without seeing them and they're not starting to fade yet, but they seem to have a pretty universal appeal, whereas Cordons humour generally appeals to younger males and we all know how short our attention span can be (OK not so young now, but I was once). For those above who are having a dig at Patrick Stewart, he may no longer be on the A list, but he'll still be around and working when Cordon is long forgotten except by those watching repeats of G&T on BBC 3.

It's hardly a display of blazing wit is it taking the p**s out of a guy behind him when he's gone up there just to present an award, after that he doesn't really cut him down with his supposed genius does he. Totally uncalled for and both of them come out of it badly and immature but he really shows himself u[
Didn't Corden have a strop at the Baftas a year or 2 ago calling a critic a t**t because he said he thought it was ok just not great.
Patrick Stewart not including his work on more commercial projects as mentioned by onthetrain he has been performing with the royal shakespeare company for like 40 years or something and has received an OBE for it surely thats a pretty good measure of a good actor?
Never been a Gavin and Stacey fan got a few people i like in it like Rob Brydon and Ruth Jones who is probably the real brains behind it all, just don't particularly rate it a lot of it has been done before and alot better.
After going solo after G&S he's produced a rightly slated sketch show which had one joke which was I'm fat and fat people don't normally do things like this.
Then made a movie which was one of the worst movies of last year and was far from funny.

Corden is over exposed. Thinks he is something he isn't .
However Sir Patrick showed himself up.

Neither video shows what Cordon was doing before Patrick Stewart gave him a lecture on stage, but I gather he was giving exaggerated expressions of boredom and disinterest. I can understand why a true pro like Stewart would be annoyed by that, but it was wrong of him to give him a dressing-down on stage as he just looked like a bully and it was embarrassing. Should've kept his cool and then torn a strip off him backstage afterwards. A cringe-worthy display from both in the end.

I think the trying to be funny by acting bored triggered it all off. Sometimes it's just showing respect to a well established actor from a different generation who does not particularly expect someone to act like a prat while hosting an award.

Why didn't Stewart just turn around and ask Cordon to address him as Sir?
Maybe ask the chump to polish his shoes...?
