I should not judge him on just on game but what i seen yesterday i hope he is given another 12 month contract. He looks a decent young player. The lad seemed to have a good go yesterday and he seemed to play with no fear.Sign him up now Paul.

Show him and his dad a map. Can't go past a man, too slow, cant deliver a decent cross consistantly = not good enough. But agreed showed he was up for the fight yesterday, must have been something to do with his dads job being on the line!

I thought he played really well yesterday.
But he will be hamstrung at league level from having absolutely no pace, and he doesn't have a trick to beat a player.
His throw ins were a real bonus. I wondered why we didn't start to use them like corners and get the big lads up for it.
But it is not hsi fault he has no pace. It is not him shirking it, it is just he is not quick.

I wouldn't be disappointed if he was to leave, as already said he is to slow and can't beat a man.

By all means explain to us why Simmo should go. By all means debate Jake's ability - it is your right. But when you put up needless, personal rubbish like that, it makes us all look like idiots when in fact it's just you and a few others.

so..to get back to the subject.
He has no pace and can't beat a player..hence crosses come in from somewhere just over the halfway line.
Enough said. Effort alone is not enough. No further contract to be offered.

A sacrastic point such as yours which only creates an argument, like this, or which doesn't add to the debate.

I can see both sides of the argument on this one.
He did well yesterday, especially when you take into account his age and the fact that the circumstances surrounding the game must have been very difficult for him - he looked gutted at the end.
On the other hand, it is true that he's not particularly quick, which is a bit of a drawback in a winger. I don't agree that he isn't skilful on the ball though, and he proved earlier in the season that he's capable of delivering a good cross.
All in all, he's earned himself another chance, and we should judge him after a run of games in the side.

the lad cant run, dribble, beat a man, head the ball but its ok this is 2010 and under eu law we must praise the lad and put a arm round and give his dad 100% backing for taking us backwards.

I thought he started the game well yesterday but that lasted for only 10 15 minutes after that I find it hard to remember anything he contributed to the game except his long throw.
Should he stay or should he go I don't really care, I'd hope any new management team would strengthen the team in the midfield area in which case I'd suspect Simpson Jnr would be a reserve team player for the majority of next season.

Daveg's post agrees that it's everyone's right to debate the managerial ability of Paul Simpson and the playing ability of Jake Simpson. It does however also say that when a poster resorts to personal abuse towards a player and/ or manager then it reflects badly on that poster and on B&A as a whole. Which part of that do you disagree with?

We have said for the last few weeks,
"We accept the player's simply don't have the qualty, we are not expecting us to be world-beaters, we just want to see passion, drive, energy and commitment"
Jake Simpon gave us that yesterday, he also hit one outstanding weaker-foot volley. Maybe it was a tactical decision to get the ball into the box at every early opportunity, because it wasn't just Simpson crossing from deep yesterday
Was impressed with Jake yesterday, he deserves a run in the team until the end of the season

He's an ok player. He won't improve us as a team but he does have a bit of fight in him which I like to see. His throws are very good & I can't understand why we weren't loaded their penalty area with the likes of Coughlan & Sherriff. He only had Hibbert to aim for which rarely worked yestersday.

Simpson's crossing and throw ins would have been more effective if people like Mr Cureton could jump, as an example.
People have commented we do not expect world beaters, just a bit fight. I think Simpson gave his all yesterday, and should be praised for it.

simpson had a good game he was one of our best players his fitness will improve with the games he has to be fair to him he must of been knackered playing 2 games in 3days especially is first 2 games since injuries and he should be here next season. some fans don't want him here because hes simpsons son. but hes potential and ability he can only get fitter and better. i would rather him here next season than hibbert. because hibbert as gone back to his oldself he use to get slated for playing that bad but not now because hes a fan favourite. booing when he went of was ridicoulous he was useless yesterday so was cureton broke and bright done better.

Simpson was also one of our best players against Torquay.
And if he was only effective for 10-15 minutes yesterday, that's still 10-15 minutes more than lewis neal

I think Simpson Jnr has a chance of making it but i doubt it will be with us.If his dad gets the sack he would probably want to leave anyway and who would blame him.If his dad stays i would be happy enough if Simmo Jnr was kept on next season.

I don't think he has the pace to play as a winger, but I do think he has an eye for a pass. He's also energetic and quite feisty, so I'd suggest he should be tried in midfield.

He's a trier but dont see him as a long term solution. In fact I think he probably sums up the team very well, will try but has little pace and little attacking threat
I certainly dont see him as a winger, he doesnt have the pace of a Humphrey's, the skill of a Pugh or the crossing/creativity/goalscoring threat of a Davies. What does that leave him with?
Good luck to the lad and I hope he proves me wrong but I think we need to be looking at better players to get out of this league. Who is dad is irrelevant, we should be looking at better players IMO
