Which stands would the 800 Barnet fans go in?

usual place plus several vertical rows of the family stand, a few police and stewards will be able to look after that no probs.
An extra 1700 spaces for town fans shouldnt be sniffed at Loyalshrew IMHO.

I wasn't sniffing at anything.
The family stand is always sold out, I wouldn't agree with family stand regulars losing their place in their normal seats sorry

I'd vote 'yes', but as Phil says, there is only 500 seats in the station end. Now, whether or not we should only give them 500 tickets?..... It should actually be possible to allocate them just the 1500 standing spaces and then that would mean 6,500 tickets for Town fans. Enough for every season ticket holder, priority card holder and super blues member.....

More town fans there are more noise they make.
I say give Barnet the 500 seats in the end of the station end stand and that be it.
I don't think they'll bring that many down, 600 max i reckon.

What is the problem of moving several vertical rows of the family stand into the centre stand?
Im sure the family stand fans wouldnt mind a more central view.

That sounds much better, just give them the 1500 standing spaces in the station end

We can sit here and say what we think should happen , but has anybody asked/been in touch with Ian to see if this will/might happen?

The station end holds 2000 and the away seats area holds 500.
You cannot therefore switch 500 to the wakeman or riverside for safety reasons.
The only way to get more town fans at the game is to move the family stand over by several rows and give the station end to home fans, its very simple really.

Is it ok if we move you from your regular place? You'll then have the problem of moving the regulars from their places inthe centre stand. I don't agree with it.

to be fair the family stand sells out most matches n if u give tickets to barnet for the family stand then we are ikely to moiss out as we wudnt b able to get our tickets for family stand as they wud have been given to barnet. i think we sud give them the station seating stand but not into family stand!

Moving people from the family stand into the central stand only means people in the center stand hve to move, I like where I sit in the family stand anyway...

If it ment i could go to the game instead of having to sit in the pub watching for updates on the sky vidi-printer then NO i wouldnt really care where i stood or sat.
I would rather move approx 300 supporters to a more central position than lock an additional 1700 town fans out of the ground.
The seats are hardly ever sold out so there is plenty of room to accomodate regulars in the stands.

The ground certificate for 8000 is not based on definitive numbers in each area i.e. we can have changeable numbers of people on the terracing. Thats why we sometimes give out 2000 and sometimes 2500 tickets to visitors.

We have to provide a minimum of 10% of capacity to away supporters, that means we have to give 800 tickets.
I cant believe people would prefer to see town fans locked out of the ground in what is the biggest game since the great escape because they may not be able to sit in there usual space on matchday.
That really is a very selfish attitude to take IMHO.

Welshshrew, the reason we can give out either 2000 or 2500 tickets is because sometimes we dont give them the seats, you cant just plonk an extra 500 in the riverside - i stand to be corrected though!

You can give the away fans 500 seast + 2000 standing or 500 seats + 1500 standing The safety certificate doesn't require a fixed amount for the station end. As Welshshrew says if we gave them just 1500 terracing tickets we'd still have 6,500 tickets for STFC fans and no one would lose their normal positions in the stand

i believe you can. for example we could in theory give barnet 800 standing places in the station end and allocate all of the seating area to town fans and then allow an extra 700 onto the riverside/wakeman. the capacity restraint isnt so much to do with overcrowding on the terraces ('capacity' games on the riverside always have plenty of room), more the 8000 limit on the entire site - which we all know is the reason why the new meadow needs to be built.

So whats stopping us just giving them 800 tickets for the station end and letting an additional 1700 in the wakeman/ riverside?

Barnet fans reckon 600 - 1000 tops, so we will be kicking ourselves in the teeth unless we allocate only 800 tickets for Barnet.

So its ok to have an extra 500 in the Wakeman/ Riverside but not an extra 1700?
According to robspaceman1, the certificate is for the entire ground not to exceed 8000.
Are you now saying that there are limits to numbers allowed into specific areas of the ground then?

Yes, that's right.
There are individual stand constrictions and an overall ground capacity limit. The former is due to individual stand safety issues, the latter, I'd imagine, is due to the access to and from the Gay Meadow site.
