I may have rose tinted glasses but I don't remember the pitch being particularly bad in the 1970s or 80s or many games getting called off. Now it looks dreadful as soon as the first rain falls. I think that the general quality of pitches has got better while ours has stayed much the same. There are more postponements now because clubs and referees are less willing to play on a poor surface. At last Tuesday's meeting GP pointed out that most managers in this division think our pitch is very poor and alter their style of play because of this. The good news this might have helped us stay up. ;D

One thing this board have failed miserably to do is to improve the income streams at the football club to allow it compete in League 2.
We still have at least another season left at Gay Meadow, and yet still the commercial side is totally rudderless.
I am utterly convinced that the New Meadow project (take away the rights and wrongs of it) has been mismanaged by those in the boardroom, and also that this has had, and is having an adverse effect on the day to day running of the football club.

That is undeniably true as is the complete shambles of the last 12 months with Mark Peters and Bill Wingrove

There are many people who will not come to the meadow because its a dump, regardless of whatthe team is doing, I don't know how many times i've heard if i'm going to watch cr@p on the pitch I least want comfortable surroundings to do it in. Show a player the GM or what we will have at the NM and which do you think they will choose? Smart changing rooms, well kitted treatment room, smart gym or what there is now? If all goes right, when the NM's built and were are playing cr@p you should be able to go under the stand and by yourself a pint Ok, so certain people wont go to the Meadow because its a 'dump', but whats the point of going to a nice sparkling new stadium to watch 'cr@p' football? (not that I'm saying we will be like that when we move) A winning team will attract bigger crowds wherever we play at, its the corporate side the club needs to sort out not the fanbase
