I know there are going to be people who don't agree with this but here it goes... its a request that at the end of the game on saturday there is no pitch invasion. Hopefully by both sets of fans staying off the pitch, the players from both sides will be able to show their appreciation at the final whistle instead of waiting for eveyone to leave the pitch area, and without the problems we had last season at the barnet game when a player got assaulted. I will be making a similar request to the sc***horpe fans so that if they do have something to celebrate they can do it at the end of the game.

I think that's fair enough to be honest.
Ensures both sets of fans can give their players appreciation at the final whistle.

End of season pitch invasions are always good natured affairs - including the one against Barnet. Morecambe as well as I recall.

No problem matey. I just hope the losers don't see this message and think "wanna bet?". If it's only going to be stewards keeping fans off the pitch then i'm sure a number of the knuckdraggers will end up gaining entry to the pitch quite easily. Is there going to be a big police presence on Saturday?

we had nothing to celebrate against Morecombe or Brighton.
As for the player who was assaulted, the case was dropped when it got to court, so i guess he wasnt assaulted.

I can't order people not to go on the pitch, all i can do is put something like this out and appeal to people not to, and enjoy the day. we've not had a great season but we're still in the league, and if sc***horpe do have something to celebrate then whats wrong with letting them enjoy the moment in the appropriate manner with their fans

if the football league inspectors turn up like they can do at any time... or the ref mentions it in his report.. or its seen on sky
then Shrewsbury Town Football Club get it in the neck for failure to control fans
what IS the point of running on the pitch anyway..? dont see the point myself

what IS the point of running on the pitch anyway..? dont see the point myself Whilst I will respect the request and not run on the pitch, I guess it is a tradition for this to happen on the last game of the season, and whilst these are usually good natured affairs, is seems that as time moves on so do these traditions. Morecambe last year, Exeter year before - both great occasions but unfortunately one knob head form the Barnet game ruins it for everyone else....

Unfortunatley there is always one who will spoil things for the rest, as quite a few players could be leaving it will be great if they are able to walk round the pitch to say thier goodbyes rather than from up in the stand.
The same for the Scunny players to be able to go to thier fans rather than a free for all

whilst i will no doubt abide by laptops requests, i do take issue with the idea of pitch invasions earning the clubs fines.
Were we fined when we invaded the pitch against barnet, live on sky?
Were coventry fined last week?
Were scarnrough fined when they all sat on the pitch and listened to the news that Jimmy Glass had just sent them down?
Were carliar fined last season for invading the pitch?
How mnay clubs actually get fined/docked points/banned from their grounds for pitch invasions?
Will liverpool be getting fined for the two pitch intruders last night? live on tv beemed around the world?
Is this just a subtle attempt of saying people who run on the pitch are as bad as the ebf? dont love the club? what?
And which clubs have been fined for end of season pitch invasions?
And no i dont want to hear that burnley were fined ££££ because they had 3 pitch intruders during their match against Blackburn.

Its a tradition repeated every year pretty much so guess this season too its a chance to pay our appreciation to players and if scumthorpe win i guess they will be on pitch. This cant be stopped so just get on with it i cant see there being any trouble as swansea is the prime place for trouble and there was none there! So come on what happens happens lets just get on with it and have a really good day that both sets of fans can enjoy!

The Scunny fans won't be on the pitch as they have a huge fence in front of them.
Lets just respect laptop's plea.
As has been said we haven't really got anything to celebrate, I'll be quite happy just to applaud the players as they come round the pitch at the end of the match

You will be ignoring police advice, so won't mind getting arrested, possibly fined and banned from attending matches. + a possible fine for the club etc.

Liverpool will likely be fined because the two fans ran on the pitch during the game.
I have supported Shrewsbury since the late 1960s and it has always been a tradition in the last home match that the fans come onto the pitch and show their appreciation to the team, who usually appear in the stands.
This is always a good natured affair and does no-one any harm. It would be sad if it stopped with only the likelyhood of one more season at the Meadow.

Lincoln City have been every time at the end of the season they invade the pitch the club gets fined by the FA

Surely, one way round the danger of a fine is that if the club asked fans to wait until the players cleared the field and then invited the fans onto the pitch.
