Have a look at the match reports on here: www.atgg68.dsl.pipex.com/WBP2003-%20Stats.Results%202004.05.htm"Both Jemson and Thompson broke away celebrating the goal but the after match analysis left Jemson with the credit." "Preparing to take a free kick Nigel Jemson reacted badly to a request from the bench and the ex Forest striker loudly verbally abused several of his own team mates." "Jemson wrestled the ball away from the other players and the spot kick only to see it saved by Parry." Good old Jemmo, still scoring goals and still creating havoc.

Thought he was a lazy t**t when he was here, realised his importance when he was gone. The words grass and greener seem appropriatte.

Jemmo was awesome when he was at salop. Scored plenty of goals, set up plenty more and was an entertainer

I would have much rather have payed Jemson £1800 a week than Darby (if rumours are true).

He had 26 goals by the end of his second season and had helped us to 55 points in his first and 70 points in his second season.
Absolute legend.

The best player we have had in my 11 seasons following Town (in my humble opinion). What he brought to the team can be simply shown by what Luke has been without him for the past 2 seasons

Never was as far I am concerned, he is one of those individual's that would never have been able to get into the same room as his own ego.
And ok he scored the two goals against Everton, but wasn't that part of the job he was being paid to do.

An average of a goal every 3 games sustained over 3 seasons. Oh for someone who could do that now!

I doubt it was in the job description to 'score the goals that knock the side that are sitting 4th in the Premiership out of the FA cup and earn enough money to get Shrewsbury Town back into the Football League'. But maybe it was.

But maybe it was. Spot on Gareth, just what m thought was. If it hadn't have been for Jemmo we would still be playing feckin Farnboro. We didn't realise at the time just how important those goals were.....thank god for Jemmo!

Legend my rusting ring piece. He was good value for money whilst here and his statistics prove his worth to the team but please, please don't bestow him with unwarrented star status. He was an ego with boots, he played for the benefit of Nigel Jemson not STFC and was ignorant and disrespectful to the fans on more than one occasion. Don't you bloody dare group that professional mercenary with REAL legends such as Rowley, Turner, Maguire, Maginnily or Lynch. Players that loved this club and its fans and who were proud to wear the shirt. We were a wage packet and he did alright for us. Thats where it ends.

A perfectly valid view (albeit, utterly wrong), but I must ask who the hell Maginnly was?

No disrespect to the youngsters, but it shows how far we have fallen when Austin Berkley is mentioned in a thread about legends

Well he must be some sort of a legend. We are still talking about him on here and he is still generating a lot of different opinions.
IMHO - a legend but a different sort to those others that have been named.
Oh and Austin Berkeley - just brilliant.
