I'm not too bothered about the cross.
The cost on the other hand.....

I'm not too bothered about the cross. The cost on the other hand..... yes I was going to say exactly the same, quite like the design actually , always up for a new slant on things, plus it gives those who like to moan about anything something to moan about , so something for everyone ;-)

Can’t even begin to imagine how much of a snowflake you’d have to be to get upset about the design of an England football shirt.

Not too bothered about the flag but I do find it a bit odd that apparently this is the only Flag that's been modified by Nike.

Having worked with designers I know how they love to play with a colour palette.
Nothing to see here but a gift for culture war lovers.

Good luck changing it now. There are probably thousands about to hit the shops. Best we can hope for is if any future shirts are made they revert to good old red.

I think for the most part football fans are suckers for tradition; its why a good few of us were unhappy with the clipart and desperate to be rid of it, its why Cardiff fans did their best to get back to blue from red. There are plenty of other examples. The St George's cross, which happens to be the flag of England, is a red cross on a white background. Anything else is not the St George's cross and therefore, Lord knows what its doing there. I won't be buying the shirt because of that and whilst yeah it might seem petty and OTT, I didn't buy anything with clipart on it either. And I'm happy with that. Appreciate such things might seem trivial to some but I think for many of us football fans these things matter... And that's before we get to how much it costs.

If it is a crime on here to be Patriotic then I am guilty. I am British not English I am proud of the Union flag and respect the nations flags that make our flag up. Unfortunately I am a bit annoyed by the disregard shown by the people who designed this. Nothing to be done now I'll get over it

Here goes,I'll stand up and say what millions of ordinary Brits are probably thinking at this very moment.
This is just the latest in a long line of attacks in recent years on our proud British identity, history and traditions. These shirts are no doubt being made by exploited kids from synthetic rubbish in some third world sweat shop and being paid a pittance by one of the many greedy globalist corporations.
Time to stand up to these largely American businesses who are making obscenely large profits whilst paying minimal UK tax. Time to boycott Nike and all their globalist mates.

Errrr, everyone knows it's an homage to the well known '66 purple training kit worn by our heroes of 1966. Don't think I've ever seen colour footage of them training on TV during that tournament ??
