Shall we see if Hurst gets more goals than games between now and the end of the season?
Be an interesting one after the previous goals to games thread we had!
Finally woke up feeling positive, up the town

I would bet that he will (even if we dont sign another striker) given the fact he has ditched the back five in favour of a back four, has two players who can actually run upfront, and is playing midfielders in their proper positions and given them confidence to play the ball on the floor and to get up the pitch and support the frontmen.

Currently 8 goals in 7 games since Hurst’s return. And 10 goals conceded.

Currently 8 goals in 7 games since Hurst’s return. And 10 goals conceded. Dont really need any further stats to prove that the change in tack during the close season was a disaster. Roland got it wromg, chose the wrong DOF who in turn chose all the wrong coaches. Amazed he still draws a wage from the club tbh and just wonder what he can say to convince anyone he is worth keeping on. Cant live on the possibility Travis Hernes is going to earn us a fortune forever.

8 goals in 7 games is certainly not great but when we had scored 18 in our previous 28 games then it's a significant improvement (which really does emphasise just how bad it was).
Much will be made of last summers recruitment and the football under Taylor but should we get relegated, the failure to recruit in January will be the biggest failure. We had a glaring weakness in the side but did not address it

Taylor was 18 in 28, so will Hurst make it to 18 goals, and in how many fewer games…
Goals conceded he’s on 13 in 9 games, 39 in 28 for Taylor so Hurst’s is marginally worse, but that’s a price worth paying for better football, more ambition, more goals and more points.

Paul Hurst's Barmy Army 🎶 The first goal away at Vale was a lovely worked set piece goal - really good

You couldn't carry on with Taylor's way of playing football....5-3-2 wasn't getting us anywhere, especially away from home.... where we've done very well lately.i could probably guarantee that we wouldn't have won any of those recent away games🤷🤷

Paul Hurst's Barmy Army 🎶 What's with the apple - where did your old icon go? From a long time ago, thankfully the comms has improved a little of late. I think the ticketing has also settled down, although see a few recent complaints about the quality of the comms put out around ticketing, rather than issues with ticketing themselves. You could argue the weird recruitment is ongoing

And how good to see us come flying out of the traps in away games, 2-0 after 5 mins against Reading, and taking the lead after 6 minutes against Vale. It won’t always be good, but even just the intent is a breath of fresh air.

I generally ignore stats other than which team has scored the most goals but the 42 passes in a half at Burton was certainly a low point.

Most of those were probably in the last 10 minutes , we turned up 80 minutes late to that game , I noticed on Saturday late on in the game we've certainly been practicing on the keep the ball in the corner routines , it wasn't holding it with backs to play it was actually passing it around , it looked impressive at one point
