...and hadn't we best make an effort and find out what other Town think about this? Might not be a big issue to some but this is important to me, its part and parcel of the clubs identity. I'm sick and tired of the amount of changes we have seen over the years when it comes to club colours and I want the club to remain and continue with blue and amber. The blue and amber stripes are, for me, the best colour scheme ever...why would we wish to give that up? With the New Meadow on its way, the colour scheme chosen for the new ground is going to have a big say in defining our colours for a long time to come. If the club say there is to be no amber then it looks like we are going blue and white...not good...but do we not have to make an effort now to see what Town fans want? If we can get enough support for remaining blue and amber then surely the club will have to change their thinking and deck the New Meadow out in blue and amber? But I guess we have to move quick with the building work to start soon...
But I guess we first we have to find out what most Town fans want, maybe most do what blue and white (B&A is only a small percentage of Town fans int it) but if its blue and amber then we have to get this information to the board. Is there still time to attempt to get what we think the majority of supports would favour?

Perhaps we should think a bit laterally and have an amber and blue strip

The night before the opening ceremony a crack commando team from BLUE-AND-AMBER.CO.UK are breaking into New meadow and spray painting the home stand amber!
On a serious note, I would much much prefer just blue than blue and white
I am not going to watch Chester

Well the time is now to do something about it - I know there is something about it on another thread but we can make the club wake up and realise that the fans care about this club and we we wont stand by and watch it be turned into another faceless moneyspinner club - some traditions need to be kept this is our club not theirs - Chief execs/chairmen etc come and go but the fans will always remain!

Katy, they would argue that they are fans also The fact is that when they first went to the meadow the Town played in white. They have put up with blue and amber over the years and now that they are in a position of power I'm afraid they can do it their way

Can I ask something? if you are bothered about these changes, no amber in the ground, no amber on the strip, what are you going to do about finding out why this is? Can I suggest contacting the club yourself whoever you are and having a meeting with whoever and getting to the bottom of what the issue is. First and foremost I just want a team playing in the football league at a new ground. I could see the colour change coming for a while, there is a distinct lack of amber on our present home strip, the next kit will have none, but know one actually knows why! How about emailing Judy etc and asking to see someone, they are available to be seen and surely before the game this weekend is the perfect chance

I agree with you 100% John, how about trying to organise a fans meeting with the board etc and demanding some answers? As Ant say 'Too many moaners - not enough doers!'

1) Buy large rolls of amber fabric;
2) Issue 1 seat-size piece to each supporter;
3) Supporter places over (empty) white seat, and sits in another one, thus blanking white out or replacing with amber.
Sorted, we'll never need the white seats anyway, unless it's a cup final or summink.

I take it the NM seats will be blue with STFC in white lettering on the stands? I think I'm with TBH on this one, I'd rather just see all the seats blue. So why are the directors so offended by amber? I'd like to bloody well know, they should know this is OUR club they are playing with here There is even amber seating in the centre stand for ****s sake, I'm bloody well angry with them for just trying to shove anything they want to on us.

We have probably only had blue and amber (or yellow) stripes for about 6 years out of 50+ in the football league, although there have been lots of other permutations of blue/amber, yellow/blue, blue/white, white/blue etc
I think the most important thing is a blue kit, preferably with some form of amber trim, but I can live with white.
And I really can't get excited about the colour of the seats. I am more concerned about what is going on in terms of access, facilities etc.

Can't they use the amber seats from the current ground to spell out stfc, they arent that old are they?

Blue seats only - we don't need any crappy lettering in either amber or white.

There was a meeting last night at which a director said that there would be no amber in the new ground. So I would have thought that would have been an ideal time to ask why, otherwise what is the point of having these meetings in the first place?

Very good point - instead of accepting things we arent entirely happy with - speak up!!!
