If nobody knows the result of the Sport's Personality of the Year, why was Kelly Holmes already wearing a "mini" microphone clipped to her dress when she got up to receive the award?

Because she was interviewed before hand as were all the other contenders except for Flinto who was in South Africa
I asume this is the reason anyway

Everyone who was in with a chance of winning will have been wired up just in case. The Beeb isn't a tin pot company you know, even if most of their programmes suggest otherwise

If she shaved her head, she could pass for a certain aging midfielder who likes to argue

We should organise a block vote for Gary Newbon next year. I'll get me coat.................. I believe the phrase you were looking for was actually a "bricking" or "stoning". Blocks are not worth wasting the effort on him.

I thought Flintoff should have won it, after all it is a 'personality' award and not ' Sports Acheivment of the year award' Wayne Rooney is a 'personality' who made the top 5 - but I wouldn't put him in this years top 20 contenders for 'Sports Achievement of the year award' (unless we are talking about p:$$ing people off during the Spain friendly. Anyone that won a medal at the Olympics should be before Rooney and we had a cyclist who won 3 medals (Gold, Silver & Bronze) , I beleive the first Brit to do that at the same Olympics for 40 years - unbeleivable that he didn't make the top 5. Shows how cr@p BBC's coverage of ALL sports is.

You are justifying my point by arguing against it, Kelly Holmes achievment makes her the 'Sportsperson' of the year without doubt, but not the 'personality'.
