I much prefer the longer format, and don't mind the 50 overs game either.
Never been to New Road to watch a 20/20 - and probably never will - but I must admit that the two T20's against S. Africa have been superb entertainment.
Nice to see Mo come to the fore too.

Will there be the "Cricket Social" on the web? That's as close as we might hope to get, but it's a sad decline of the great TMS. Beeb funding needs sorting if they think a huge pay day for "stars" like Graham Norton and the dreadful Mrs Brown is more important than TMS. It looks like I'm going to have to return to Sky sports after all if I want to have my fix of test cricket.

Talking of Moeen, he's now looking to the home test series this summer for his possible return to test cricket. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/51511266

Two very close and entertaining games, I hope the decider on Sunday is as good. England probably should have won both games but could easily have lost 0-2. Superb batting from Mooen, rightly the man of the match, to really turn things in England's favour with the bat. Then excellent from Curran in the final over after getting clattered early in the over. It certainly was, what a fantastic T20 series that was, it will definitely take some beating for entertainment value.

Methinks they might now look at replacing Wood in that format though. That was a very poor performance by him.
Malan missed a chance to stake a claim to replace Denly. It was only when he was batting that the innings stalled for a short while.

All in all it's been a positive trip to South Africa for all 3 formats of the game. Meanwhile the England Lions racked up 613 for 8 in their 4 day game in Hobart. Test hopefuls Dom Sibley and the recalled Keaton Jennings both scored hundreds. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/scorecard/ECKO46444

Apparently, this is the 5th flood they've had this winter, which is a record. I'm beginning to come to the sad conclusion that they do need to move to a new ground. The upheaval and financial cost of this to the Club is becoming completely unsustainable.

Looking to next summer and beyond, Dan Lawrence is certainly impressing on the England Lions tour. 125 vs Australia A to follow up his 190 last week. Developing as an off spin bowler as well.

Good performance by New Zealand.
Just completed a 2-0 home series win vs the best team in the world, India.

As predicted England's women were eliminiated from World T20 without a ball being bowled in their semi final v India. Australia were less than 10 mins from the same fate when the rain stopped long enough for them to beat SA by 5 runs (DLS) in their match v South Africa.
England's defeat by SA in the first group game ultimately ensured their downfall.
Seems a shambles no reserve days planned and the weather supposed to be good in Sydney on Friday. Final is India v Australia on Sunday. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/51750764

There's one reason and one reason only that there is no reserve day. TV schedules. The same TV schedules that were responsible for the timing of this game.

Greetings fellow cricket lovers. Hope you are all coping during these difficult times.
So during the last 10 days the rumour has come out that there will only be the new 100 competition and the T20 ( if any ) cricket taking place this season. I don't particularly make a point of going to/watching this form of the game, but having said that the T20's in S. Africa were amazing games.
No County cricket and 50 over games will be devastating ( that's probably too strong a word in the present climate ) for me, but I will certainly miss going down to Worcester. Hopefully WCCC will just transfer my season ticket, which I've already paid for, over to next season.
I am just hoping that the Minor Counties - it's not called that any more is it !! - will still play some matches so that I can watch Shropshire, and also the Birmingham League because I can then watch Shrewsbury at London Road, which is just up the road from me.
I've also got tkts for all five days at Old Trafford (Pakistan), and five days at Trent Bridge (Pakistan). Accommodation already booked for these games too on a non-refund basis. These games are in August though so with a bit of luck we will be back to some form of normality by then !!
Stay safe everyone, and fingers crossed that we WILL get some cricket this Summer.

I'm sure the ECB will want to get their new flagship 100 underway at some point this summer, if nothing else.

Yep, you can bet your life that if we get any it will be the comp's that makes the most money. Certainly not we who prefer the longer format !!

No cricket til at least July 1st now. And then probably without spectators !!! Really missing going down to New Road, and up to London Road to watch Shrewsbury. I'd already bought tkts and booked accommodation for Old Trafford & Trent Bridge Tests against Pakistan too.
