Lowest percentage of income spent on wages in the division, plus fairly remote location, no wonder we have difficulty attracting players.
Looking at the figures we could afford to pay a bit higher wages without rocking the boat

Thanks for posting.
We are certainly risk averse as a club, that is for sure. Perhaps Roland is too cautious in his approach? The analysis certainly suggests that to be the case.

One factor may be that when the purse strings are loosened it doesn't seem to buy success, for example, Simpson and Askey.

So on one hand you are saying pay higher wages, then say we should see best players? you only have to look at Notts County so see where paying higher wages got them - annual loss of £3m and almost gone bust, plus relegation.

I said we could possibly spend a little more to attract players, and that when we have it has not been a disaster such as Notts County. If course I would like to keep our best players, but the reality is that we are a selling club.

Makes Accrington's achievements even more outstanding Accrington don't seem to be on that chart! Thet were in league 2 17/18. Both myself and Martin follow Accy Chairman Andy Holt on Twitter and he has some very insightful views on EFL/PL etc.

Makes Accrington's achievements even more outstanding Morecambe is another club that I have a lot of time for. They do well to continue to survive in the football league.
