God almighty, the contempt for a guy who put in maximum effort for Town is staggering. He could be joining us and you've bludgeoned him over the head. Shame on you! Err. So why have you'liked' my post? He really is a strange one. Hope his Mum takes his phone off him before bed and saves him the embarrassment.

Looking at the Oxford forum many of their fans expect Shearer to either retire, move into coaching or at best drop into non league this summer. I didnt even look, I presumed he'd retired years ago

Scott Shearer is retiring this summer. Looks like Charles Cook signing for us extinguished his last hope of securing a contract as a 3rd keeper!

Scott Shearer is retiring this summer. Looks like Charles Cook signing for us extinguished his last hope of securing a contract as a 3rd keeper! www.shropshirestar.com/sport/football/shrewsbury-town-fc/2019/05/09/shrewsbury-town-in-the-market-for-a-new-goalkeeper/“He then lost his way a little bit, he’s a real bubbly character, he’s good to have around. He has potential. “And where we are we want a competitive element to the goalkeeping front. “You need a few in-house, like what happened last season. If you only have two or three then you could have an injury and you’re left to one. “What that does mean is the likes of young Cam Gregory can go out on loan as well while still leaving us with enough in-house if an injury occurs. 2017/2018 had 22 games with Swindon he was on a two year contract but was released after a year prior to joining town he was with a danish team 2018 /2019 season he played once in a cup game, he was failed trialist with us but somhow was signed in january and has not played all season, when we saw how poor mitchell was that does not say a lot.

Arguably two of the worst keepers ever at town, with their only redeeming feature that they have two of the best smiles in the game. How could you say no to them.

what does 'he lost his way a little bit' mean? Is that a euphemism on the part of SR?

How can you rate CRC one of the worst keepers ever at town? How many games have you / we seen him play.... it’s like Chineses whispers, fans think he’s a dud signing so he must be..... he played 62 games for Coventry in League 1 before he became no good ....

Goalkeepers last much longer than outfield players. Just look at Buffoon, Kahn and Shilton. Sharp as a tack well into their 40s Yeah, Buffon is clearly not passed his best by about six years.

I think the negative comments about Mitchell are a bit harsh. Not seen him do much wrong tbh

From what I saw of both Mitchell & Arnold id much rather Arnold play. Better shot stopper who stepped up a couple of leagues ..
