From a Division 4 game against Newport County.
Maybe you can recognise yourself or friends as there are plenty of close up crowd shots.

Ahh, wonderful Fred. My first Shrews game was in October '75 so this looks familiar and brings back memories. Nice find.

Saw my first game at the old Meadow in 1950. Lovely little ground (except for those 'smelly' toilets !! Excellent post, well dug out -excuse the pun- tvor.

I was at that match - standing in the old enclosure!! Only time I have ever seen Fred in action - poor chap must have been exhausted the amount of times they made him run round the pitch!! Oh and the ball never got kicked into the river in that game!

Was pretty close to this time when the singers started moving over to the Riverside buffet, when at that time it been occupied by the Dad's, with their lads on the front wall. I remember maybe late that season Walsall running over the Riverside wall near the corner into the Station, then by next season I guess the 1st Fence barrier appeared near the corner of the Riverside Station End corner floodlight. Start of darker times , then the cage went up etc stayed till the end beyond Hillsborough, till the end in 2007.

Great footage, great memories. On average 5 or 6 would travel to the games from Kerry. We use to stand in the enclosure to the left of tunnel, when looking from pitch. Added attraction of this part of the ground was proximity of the Supporters bar. Tuesday night games ended with a visit to the Hen and Chickens, then Jack's for fish and chips before heading back over the border. Have spotted one of our party loitering near the tunnel, then as Fred returns with ball in hand, I have spotted myself and another mate.
