Not sure how many players Bury have left. It was 6, but a couple more have moved on in the last couple of days.
Lowe is collecting them at Plymouth. Mayor, Aimson, Moore and Telford at the last count. He wanted Maynard too, but he's joined Mansfield instead.

Bury managed to get a fee for Telford, HMRC will want first dabs on that as soon as the money comes through

For the rest, they don't get paid and can leave, as Bury are in breach of contract for not paying their wages. Lowe was paid up to date in order for Bury to receive £150k compensation. Meanwhile, the rest of the staff haven't been paid and are relying on handouts and food banks. A fair number have been given their P45s anyway.

Ever been to a pre season game where all your team has been made up of trialists?
Me neither.
What a sad state of affairs 😕

To be going into a pre season game just 21 days before the start of the season smacks of hopelessness. Any player trialling there must be desperate to be a pro footballer because the club is unlikely to survive much longer and unlikely to pay you or make pension contributions.

It never rains but it pours. A rumour is running on the Bury Board that if the CVA is approved, then Steven Vaughan and his son are interested in taking over. Surely not! Vaughan bought Chester after the Club went into voluntary administration, even though he was already the majority shareholder. It was only later on that the Club was wound up. It is interesting to note that Chester were initially barred from competing in the 2009–10 season due to Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs revoking the proposed CVA (company voluntary arrangement) but the club was eventually given FA affiliation. This came, however, with a 25-point penalty at the start of the 2009–10 season. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Vaughan_Sr.

It would seem the only thing the EFL are interested in is papering over the cracks and keeping the fixture list intact

The won an appeal with FAW which overturned a 42 point deduction for last season which saw them relegated - Holywell Town have now been relegated instead!

Yet again we must hope that the EFL pick up on all this before they are allowed anywhere near Bury.

Surely the EFL will investigate this!!!! Instigate, right? You mean instigate. It really wouldn't surprise me if they got the get go if it meant that Bury were to be kept a going concern. At least for the mean time, until the s**t hits the fan once again some time down the line. As it inevitably will.

Bangor City.
A proud club of Welsh non league being dragged through the mire. Sad to see. I feel for the supporters.

"Steven Vaughan is a convicted criminal" is the opening to his Wikipedia page. Involved in a £500k VAT fraud whilst in charge at Widnes Vikings, disqualified as a director for 11 years as a result (expires in 16 months or so) and the first club owner to fail the FA's fit and proper test.
That's some record. How desperate would you have to be?
AFC Bury is surely on its way, via the North West Counties League. This endless patching up has to stop; it's become a pantomime.

Like father, like son. Steven Vaughan Jnr is also a jailbird, convicted and imprisoned for perverting the course of justice in the murder of a policeman, no less. Nice family . . NOT!
