Pakistan don’t really have too many match winners for ODIs - that and they’ve gone back to all their old bowlers who have been there and failed!

This game was played at Trent Bridge, probably the flattest wicket in the country. What happened? The Windies game plan of attacking the Pakistan batters with a lot of short pitched deliveries obviously caught them by surprise, although the way they continued to try and attack these deliveries when six and seven down was very poor when they should have been trying to consolidate. Regarding the pitches, this is an ICC tournament and they are dictating how the pitches are set up. As with the Champions Trophy in England previously the pitches won't all play as they would in a normal English summer. Weather permitting they are likely to get drier and help spin more as the tournament progresses.

Many fans getting refunds due to problems collecting tickets. Some apparently even missed most of the Pakistan innings!

My ticket never arrived in the post.
My replacement was emailed at 11pm last night.
I emailed customer service about it at 8am yesterday. I imagine there have been a few problems....

I mean - you’d have thought England would have been able to stage a World Cup! Predicting easy win for NZ today and a tough, ground out win for Aus. NZ bowl first, chase 220. Aus bat first, set 305 with Afghan starting well but spinners then Starc cleaning up!

Duckworth Lewis may come into contention today. Seems to be more rain about than promised.

The ticketing has been absolutely diabolical. No guesses as to who is responsible for it. As for my experience I've emailed about 15 times, tweeted them and used the online form probably 6 times. After all that im now told to print at home. Yet have paid the usual extortionate booking and delivery fees and am still awaiting a considerable refund for a game I can no longer attend even though I resold my ticket automatically on their own portal. Will anything come of it and ticketmaster punished. No.

I am going to cardiff next weekend for the eng v Bangladesh game. Tickets arrived just over a week ago.
But reading the various stories and emails it is a fiasco from the icc.

Yes the tournament is being played in England but it is being staged by the ICC, and try learning some manners!

I'm off to Cardiff tomorrow to see New Zealand take on Sri Lanka. Hopefully it won't turn into a glorified 20/20. Wouldn't surprise me, Sri Lanka are pretty poor at the moment. Sorry looks like I've jinxed it?!

The New Zealand attack looked quite impressive this morning, they might be a good outside bet for this tournament.

This is probably why.
"Matt Henry is the Player of the Match for his three-for. "Good to go out there on a green surface," he says. "You don't get too many one-day wickets like that (laughs)".

The commentators mentioned for one of the pitches today, it may even have been both pitches, that they are new pitches being used for the first time today. The ICC will probably have left the grass on in attempt to ensure the pitches last the full tournament as there are a lot of games to play in this format. I suspect that we will see drier, and maybe slower, pitches by the latter stages that offer more help for spin, unless the weather dictates otherwise.

We’re yet to see 2 of the favourites, for me, play each other (for me that’s England/Australia/India/NZ/WI) I’d expect games between those 5 teams to be much more competitive

Afghanistan are a dangerous side, particularly with their quality spin attack, and they're likely to cause an upset somewhere along the line in this tournament.

I don’t think it necessary likely - Rashid isn’t wildly dangerous in ODIs and the rest only shine a tiny bit since they’re in an otherwise garbage side.
Good to see ma boy Matt Henry doing well. No doubt Vanner and Lenny are eating their words well! See you next time Stokes does something in six months and you can gloat about your boy criminal.

Like I believe it was ever posted. The ticketing has let down, what has been a very well organised event today in Cardiff. My feedback to the ICC reflects that.

hope these games don't continue to be so one sided. the spectators can't feel they are getting their money's worth. Well, the overall experience was excellent. Yes, Sri Lanka were awful, but their fans where superb, friendly, knowledgeable, and well aware of their teams shortcomings. And, wasn't there a rather one sided FA Cup Final recently?
