Just backed us at 33/1 to finish bottom, i think it's a huge price. Highly doubt we'll get another point on the road, and we'll probably make a mess of things at home against poor sides. It's going to turn toxic, but it should all be aimed at the board. Absolute disgrace the way the club has been run this season.
ROLAND OUT, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

The end is nigh and as Sam says its a bitter pill to swallow (to be fair his puns are top draw).

You look to the fixtures and there is now not one team you look at and fancy we could beat. Gutted. Wycombe, Sc***horpe, Southend, Oxford and Walsall still to play all of who are worse than us on current form. How's our recent record against teams down the bottom? I can think of 0 points v Bradford, 0 v Plymouth, 0 v Wimbledon, 1 v Rovers, 1 v Rochdale. Should we manage similar against those 5 we'll not only pick up few points but we'll hand our opponents crucial points to further harm us

Four of those five games were away from home. Four of the games we have left that I listed are at home, if we only get two points from those then we deserve to be relegated.

SR after the game said Payne wasn't fit when he arrived from Rovers and he needed starts to get fitter! WTF, this isn't pre-season you muppet, this a relegation dogfight! If the players ain't fit, i.e. Payne and Edwards, don't fecking play them! He also said before the game that Sears wasn't a good attacking wing back but a good defensive wing back! That's because he is a fullback! Play a flat back four, with a defensive midfielder in front, either 4-5-1 or 4-3-3, just get rid of three at the back.

The first half was a disgraceful no show, particularly in our own half. Plymouth knocked it around us with absolute ease - it was as pathetic as you will ever see, and really ought to have seen a first half substitution imo. It really was that bad. Golbourne is a catastrophe, but I’m sure the ridiculous gamely swap with Haynes will continue!
2nd half was better, it had to be & was, Laurent made forward runs & Holloway (who I really don’t rate) managed to offer us ‘something’ in comparison with Payne who was our 175th crowd member. Still, Plymouth could have had another 3 even with us playing a bit better.
Ricketts must go. Our league performances are boring, tedious, defensively shambolic & I simply cannot take any more of this ridiculous team selection/rotation nonsense.
On a positive note, only an hour or so before I’m home.

Who are the four who are going to be rotated for Wycombe? I'm looking forward to seeing Reece Charles-Cook on the bench again. I'm sure it will make all the difference.

Rochdale was a typically tedious affair, but one interesting thing was that it was the first time I've heard significant dissent being directed Ricketts's way this season from the supporters. Last night I was pretty sure I could make out lots of chanting for Docherty on iFollow.

Last night I was pretty sure I could make out lots of chanting for Docherty on iFollow. The Docherty chants were definitely apparent for a lot of the first half, although it was a tactical change or a ‘hard man’ type that we needed, really. Even so, not surprising people wanted one of our few technically gifted & exciting players on - we did get him in the end, with 5 minutes to go and playing at RWB..... The atmosphere otherwise felt one of resignation, a few chants about being s**t, Bizzy berating Ricketts from afar & some cheering whe we had a shot or won a frekick near goal. A few had a bit to say on the final whistle but largely Ricketts & the players got away with it, because it was Plymouth away and the type of fan there would go again to watch them tonight, and also because Plymouth couldn’t finish us off and we just about remained in the game all the way through. Repeat it on Saturday & I think we’ll see a much angrier set of supporters.

depending on your view point it will be either; glossing over the glaring issues in defence clutching at straws emphasising the positives a fair reflection of the game

what we see is a manager who is leaning on the job , who is out of his depth is that his fault, would anyone turn down a pay rise and promotion?
however ricketts and the people who appointed him should have quickly admitted he needed an experienced assistant and appointed one . i feel the people who appointed him are the ones who are more responsible for the mess we have made of things.

playing Whalley in his current position means he has to cover a huge amount of ground , despite that he still brings to an energy to the game but playing in a wing back role limits the attacking options.
i dont know what we can do with the defence.i posted this on a previous thread.
"if we had a rather painful dvd of the goals we have conceded this season you would tend to see they have come from;
not tracking back,
poor communication,
not picking up the run,
not covering front or back post,
been static then trying to jump from a standing start only to be out jumped by the mobile opponents,
been caught out by a quick free kick,
been caught out by the diaganole ball,
giving away silly free kicks in dangerous areas.
what is alarming and disappointing this is the stuff you used to get taught at your school team, it is basic stuff. "
well we had four of them happen a few times plus not picking up the quick corner. Hurst managed to get the defence working better after about 6 games, so what did he do that Ricketts is not doing ?

'been static then trying to jump from a standing start only to be out jumped by the mobile opponents'.
That's one of Mr Beckles' favourites.

Thankfully people other than myself are starting to see the shortcomings of Mr Beccles. Grant, who played ok is slated for giving away the penalty, but I screamed in the build up that Beccles had managed to get totally the wrong side of their man, something SR alluded to when he said that we should have cut out the cross. That was an exact replica of his cock up which gifted Bradford their late winner. OB did something in the first half that I never remember seeing before in all my years playing and watching football - he managed to get nutmegged by a player 20 yards away. I agree that the formation has to change and more players need to be used in the positions that they are comfortable in.

Let's hope Bolton is fit for the weekend. If not, I'd rather see Sadler in than Beckles. Beckles has made so many mistakes since his shocking game against Rotherham in the play off final that they are worthy of a you tube compilation! For the Plymouth 1st goal, Arnold seems to be too slow getting down to the cross.

From our viewpoint directly behind it, it seemed as though Arnold had got a hand to it, but deflected it straight to Ladapo, who couldn’t miss from three feet out. Arnold had a teasonably good game, a view shared by the reporter in the Star. Just to confirm the view from the press box - it was never a corner anyway and just like the Dale second at the weekend, the Lino guessed and got it wrong.

Arnold generates mixed views but in many games he is getting very limited protection by his defence .

on the forum there are a lot of different viewpoints, perspectives and ideas of what is not working on the pitch. i would think even the most optimistic fan is concerned about our defence, the inconsistent performances and the dreadful defending .
the clock is running down, the number of games left is diminishing; can this inconsistent team with a very inexperienced manager , show some tactical nous, can the team show some grit and stop conceding soft goals.
we cant afford three consecutive defeats. time to earn your money, time to show up, time to fight. if we have another keystone cop day in defence( whilst not an advocate of such behaviour) i cant imagine that Rickets wont hear some choice Angol saxon phrases ringing in his ears

For the Plymouth 1st goal, Arnold seems to be too slow getting down to the cross. It's very harsh to attribute blame to Arnold for the first Plymouth goal, the protection in front of him was non-existent. Firstly it was two on none from the short corner and they were allowed to run to the edge of the 18 yard box completely unchallenged. Then Williams should have cut the cross out at the near post.

Again, understandably, a lot of attention is being placed on our defending. Yes, there are clearly issues with our defence, particularly when defending set plays.
That said we still have the 12th best defensive record in the division but our attacking record is the 20th best in the division, right in line with our league placing.
We're not scoring anything like enough goals but our attacking play is getting away with very little criticism compared to our defending.

A quick tally up, so may not be 100% accurate. I've excluded cup games so the comparison is like for like. So Askey was sacked after 17 games with a record better than SR's.
And SR signed 10 new players in January, only 2 of whom (Williams and Campbell) have made any real contribution. I'm not counting Golbourne!
