A tough game as Plymouth have been in very good form recently, particularly at home where they have only lost one in eight. A real contrast to when they came to us in November on an awful run of results, looked a poor side and were comfortably beaten.
We are waiting on James Bolton's injury to see if he is fit to return. For Plymouth Joe Riley played for the first time in a while on Saturday and is said to have played well so he should keep his place.
There are several other key games in League 1 the same night, where some of our relegation rivals play each other, and others where they face teams near the top of the table. It looks difficult for us to get anything from this game but if we can we are likely to make up some ground on those around us.
Bradford v Luton Gillingham v Bristol Rovers Rochdale v Oxford Sc***horpe v Southend Walsall v Portsmouth Wycombe v Accrington

We have two tough home games coming up. Plymouth defeat would really put pressure on us for those games.

They do enjoy a home game against the dregs of the division do Plymouth. Of the sides in the bottom half only Stanley have won down there. They'll be relishing our visit I'm sure... Our first 'double' of the season if we can pull sommat out of the bag...

They were abysmal when they came to us. I fear that we might be when we go to them.
Expectations are very low for this one.

if we play like we did in the first half against Doncaster then we will cause them a lot of problems, if we play like we did against Rochdale we will lose.

It's so tight from 12th (Wycombe - 1 point from their last 5 games and only 5 points ahead of a relegation place) to 24th (Wimbledon - 10 points from their last 5). Pick four to go down from 13.
Looks like there are five relegation 6-pointers tomorrow night, plus tough games for Bradford and Walsall, so the bottom half might take quite a juggle before Saturday's round (just the four 6-pointers then).
Shaping up to be a hell of a bumpy run-in for a lot of clubs.

Anthony Sarcevic is available for Plymouth after suspension. With him plus Joe Riley, Niall Canavan and Freddie Ladapo that makes it likely we'll face four ex Town men tomorrow.

I think the weather (storm Gareth) may play a big part tonight, and even things out.
I am always an optimist where the Shrews are concerned so i'll take a 2-2 draw.

let us hope we turn up and try,we know we are inconsistent , town need to score first and cut out the silly mistakes and soft goals.not losing is the priority.

This game will be decided on how much meddling the tinkerman does.
He might have a squad he can rotate for the first time in his career, all 23 games of it, but with players playing in unfamiliar positions or alongside unfamiliar colleagues almost every game, there really is very little chance of building up a head of steam.
I got the email off the website offering me chance to watch it for a tenner but to be honest that tenner is best spent betting on Plymouth! I hope to eat my words later, but that is how I feel now.

I believe on the way down there, the manager asked the players to change seats several times.

Found this a bit worrying on the Match Preview... "Referee - Brett Huxtable from Devon" Hopefully he's an Exeter City fan!!!

Found this a bit worrying on the Match Preview... "Referee - Brett Huxtable from Devon" Hopefully he's an Exeter City fan!!! From what I've read on the Plymouth forum he's a Man United fan. He's refereed Plymouth before and they were not happy with him. A quick search shows he's also upset plenty of other clubs and managers in recent times with his performances.

I suppose a poor ref is as much of a worry as a Plymouth-biased one!

the possible scenarios town come out of the blocks like the Doncaster game for the first half and we do enough to win over 90 minutes town start like they are sleep walking ,the defence concede a soft goal, lots of huffing and puffing and no end product. town grind out a draw town are dire and get well beaten
i hope we have the Doncaster scenario .

What on earth is the logic behind changing the left wing back every single game? I fail to see how that is of benefit regardless of the result tonight.

What on earth is the logic behind changing the left wing back every single game? I fail to see how that is of benefit regardless of the result tonight. Haynes may have fitness issues as he did earlier in the season, while Golbounre is unlikely to be able to do 2 games in 4 days given he has only been playing games since January.

ferjiri rotated again so presumably will come on when Campbell is subbed, so Paynes big chance ? poor Laurent another game another position , i know he is a midfielder but he seems to be the one to be moved the most .personally i think he is better in a more defensive role.

?ferjiri rotated again so presumably will come on when Campbell is subbed, so Paynes big chance ? he touched the ball once on saturday perhaps, just maybe this is nothing to do with rotation and its called getting dropped as you did nothing

Perhaps, but given Ricketts comments about liking to rotate players I think it's unlikely, certainly in most cases.
