Bit of context of this 9 game run without a win, its already up there in terms of worst runs in clubs history. But failing to beat one of the next two will put Rickets up there in rarefied air... 11 no win is historically bad... I hope i dont need to update this again!

I agree with everything that’s said here. I’m resigned to regation. Rickets will not get us out of this. My head is low when i say this but it’s reality. Again he does not know how to use the players he’s got. In the The formation that suits them to get results. There comes a time I think in the dressing room where you tell the players this is the system that suits you either step up to the wire or **** off !! That’s the bottom line . I’m sorry Mr Ricketts when we are relegated your gone. Six weeks ago you said "Rickets knows what he is doing which is more than the other bloke did. " and refused to justify that statement.

He certainly doesn't seem to be in a rush to get another job, I wonder if as part of his pay off Ipswich are paying him until he takes on another role? It is rumoured he got £1.5 million payoff, with that contract no wonder he was happy to ditch us. Made for life

He can now afford to wait for a job nearer his Sheffield home. Cant have been much fun to work so far from home at Shrewsbury and Ipswich. Still all worth it in the end. Good career advice for any new young manager. Start off with a lower league club, do well and get a move to a much bigger club. Fail, get sacked with a big pay day. Sit back and count the cash. Frank Lampard please note. Chelsea next.

But will he want to take the job from his bestest pal with whom he had such a joke and a laugh at Wembley?
Oh yes probably - it’s every man for himself in this sportsmanlike world!

As for me, I can predict everything except the future, and my judgement is 100% when I have the benefits of hindsight lol

I mean, I'm glad we've got Cotterill in and avoided Hurst, but the latter's had success at L1 level more recently than Ricketts.

There was three groups of people:
- those who wanted Ricketts to be replaced by Hurst - those who wanted Ricketts out but not Hurst. - those who wanted Ricketts to stay.
It was a divided fanbase between groups one and two, but I’m sure everyone is very much united that we made an excellent choice, and like him or not we can all have a chuckle at Hurst going back in for the Shop.

One of the weirdest stories of the past few years.
A Shrewsbury reject Luke Waterfall scoring own goals for fun and being responsible for some awful goals for Grimsby this season.
Our former, relatively okay striker in Payne getting into a fight with his own teammate and getting sent off in the process.
LJL becomes the leading point of attack after Payne is practically banished despite the fact his role here was to hold the ball up and run down the clock, not to score shed loads of goals.
Hurst has gone from a playoff final with us, losing in ET because LJL failed to track his man to relegate a side from the football league with that same man expected to be the saviour.
Tonight part of me wonders if he’ll sit back at home and think that one decision to go behind our back to talk to Ipswich was the worst mistake of his life.
If he gets sacked he’ll be lucky to get a job in the national league.

Thank the lord that Roland and Brian (allegedly) hold grudges like the worst of us and we didn’t go crawling back. Still found the absolute clamour for his return baffling and always will.

Our ex managers not doing too well, John Askey joined Sam down the dole office, Hurst might be on the way there.
Good old MM the only one who can hold a job down.
