Lewis Cox:
Breaking: I understand #salop are interested in midfielder Brad Walker, 23, who Sam Ricketts on loan to Wrexham from Crewe. @shropshirestar transfer update here
Another CM, Collette replacement I presume.
GK,LB,Winger and a striker are high on the list for Ricketts too which is good news.

If we're gonna sign a midfield player, let it be dave edwards----he will show the others what fitness levels should be like. I say no more.

Doesn't seem a good signing with current glut of midfield players - bench warmer at best I would have thought.

Strange. Why would you go anywhere near a 23 year old from the National League who has 4 in 20 when Morris already has 5 at our level?

Morris has been playing regular first team football in our division for a side who are doing better than us. I fail to see why his return shouldn't anything but warmly welcomed.
Walker has been playing two levels lower than us having been loaned out by a club one level lower than us.
Very strange.

Dave Edwards would be an excellent signing. Top player at this level, ceteris paribus.

Hopefully Walker will sign for Wrexham. The poor chap. With that prospect he may not want a big pay package to come to us.

We also have a manager that knows the player and thinks he can bring the best out of him. I can remember a manager doing that and it was a big success leading to him being sold for 800k.

OUT Bryn Morris (Fee) Sam Jones (Released) Doug Loft (Released) Hendrie (Released or back on Loan)
In Dave Edwards Bad Walker
For me that's a significantly better MF for one less wage (though probs about even with the Edwards wage)

On Bryn - Yes On the others... no. I here that Ricketts ones a smaller squad, hes said that and they are VERY vunerable to a pay off.

Have we a problem with this FIFA Rule?
'Players may be registered with a maximum of three clubs during one season. During this period, the player is only eligible to play official matches for two clubs'.
Walker has already played for both Crewe and Wrexham this season.
Some Wrexham fans are claiming he's not eligible to play for us!
Dale Vince, FGR owner, stated the following after Christian Doidge returned to them after having been on loan to Bolton:-
'Doidge will not leave for another club in January because Fifa rules do not allow a player to play for more than two clubs in one season'.
He'd already played for FGR before going to Bolton on loan. So it looks like 'registration' includes registering with a loan club.

I suspect he's one for next season & will not play til then? Ricketts possibly not willing to wait to get his man..

He came on as a sub in one game for Crewe prior to his Wrexham loan move.
So either there is dispensation from Fifa or he's headed on loan to Wrexham after we sign him.
Of course there is a third option. In that as Wrexham are NON LEAGUE it doesn't matter. Which is the most comical as numerous players go on loan to different non league sides all the time.
In fact it must be the latter. Hahahahaha

Pete O'Rourke tweeted this news ahead of the Star article, he is normally very reliable.

Wrexham fans seem to think he'll be loaned straight back to them for the rest of the season.

Crewe paid £50,000 to Hartlepool and are said to want their money back if he moves on in this transfer window. Why would we pay a fee for him and then loan him out when he is a free agent next summer?

On face value, this would be bizarre, can't get in a league 2 side, on loan to a non league side, possibly can't play for us, is out of contract in the summer and the small matter of we have an abundance of midfielders.
I'm not taking the Star's article seriously as that's clearly them re-hashing a tweet as an article of their own. However Mr O'Rourke is normally fairly reliable

Or then on face value it could be A talented player who's lost his way at a club that's managed by a moose; who has done well at a club under our current manager who is obviously impressed with him; is available on loan for 6 months to a club paying his wages under a set up ricketts himself built; and as he's out of contract Crewe will be taking a snip for him than definitely lose him for free in the summer. Na **** that. Lets write off the lad before he's signed. **** off Ricketts. Fire the board. Burn down the meadow.
