hearing the same.... Another one we missed out on, and by all accounts not the first striker to say thanks but no thanks... Start scr@ping the barrel boys.... Who is doing the "talks"? Can't just be SR, Caldwell? Adam Henshall? Mind you, he's just got the job of identifying targets. Whether we get them is another question!

Having seen Sam Smith I wouldn’t get any hopes up about the calibre of any signings we are chasing over the next 2 days. Shaping up to be the worst transfer window I can remember. Should be fun. I wish we had signed the other Sam Smith. He would have entertained us much more and we would make a shed load from his record sales 😂😂

nearly 3 p.m. on the penultimate day of the transfer window. where are the 5 players we need? Been an awful window. I look at Hurst's first window (when he over the mess from Mellon); Loans in; Freddie Ladapo Tyler Roberts Stephen Humphrys Stefan Payne Ryan Yates Transfers in; Nsiala Rodman Morris He brought in the players that were needed to survive (4 Strikers!!). We just haven't done that so far, I feel any signings we make now are going to be panic signings. I hope Ricketts has something up his sleeve otherwise this January has been pretty poor. If we don't sign a GK, that would be unforgivable. At least take a punt on some loan signings, we have 3 spaces for loanee's make the most of it. Henderson,C.Morris and Godfrey showed how key loanees can be.

It's obvious to the most casual supporter where we need reinforcements. So what I can't fathom is why the priority signings are seemingly being left to the last minute - if they happen at all. Wouldn't it have been better to secure our top priorities earlier in the window rather than yet more midfielders and a 20 year old striker that hasn't scored in 14 outings at Oxford? More time to bed in and make an impression. I know it's easier said than done but it does suggest that either Ricketts isn't being backed by the board or he doesn't really know who he wants. I believe that the board would back him so I suspect that it's Ricketts who's floundering. Reading posts above - just look at what Hurst brought in during his first window. That's what kept us up!

What’s really worrying is that we got rid of Kennedy and Emmanuel ok they may not be world beaters and here we are with just over 24 hours of the transfer window to go and everyone now knows that unless we get extra defenders in we are doomed . At this late stage IF we get some in no doubt they will be either scraps or expensive or both. Time for BC to show his worth.

What a f*****g shambles of a club. We've let defenders go and now were trying to get some in 🤔. I'm not saying Kennedy was a world beater, but trust me, "if" we get someone in he ain't gonna be any better ! We've got a forward who's costing us a fortune not even in the squad.......But were desperate for a forward. We need a left back. Because we haven't got one. Oh. I beg ya pardon. We've got one training with us. He hasn't played in ages and is not match fit.... Until Rowland and Brian leave things won't change. They just don't get it. Some on here are saying "Its gonna be tight come May".... I'd f*****g take that right now. Because that would mean we have a chance ! The set up is so patched up, I wouldn't be 100% suprised if we finished bottom, never mind down...

We need a centre half with pace, and by all accounts this young man has it. He can only improve us, as we can’t get much worse at the back! Dont think goals are our main problem tbh, as long as Fey stays fit of course. It’s keeping them out that’s been the problem!

It's bizarre that we let Emmanuel go because he is a better wing-back than Bolton and would flourish in the system we now seem to have adopted.

The way I read it, we could have kept him if we had wanted to.
Ricketts: "We agreed it would be better for him to go and play every week and we couldn't guarantee him that so we agreed to let him return to Ipswich."

At least Rio-Shaun Williams is quick. And that's one thing Askey got all wrong. His recruitment of defenders forgot to tick the pace box. I think Askey realised that when he dropped Sadler for the Charlton game when he'd just bought Waterfall and thought a Beckles/Waterfall partnership would work. A fans revolt ensued and Sadler was duly restored.

Okay, it was originally reported as him having been recalled but that does make it look like it was a joint decision.

Absolute madness to let him go back to Ipswich as we have no cover for RWB either if Bolton has to step in at CB which is easily possible if we continue with 3-5-2. Should have just lied to Ipswich and said he'll get games. We owe them nothing

So two in and dare we hope for one or two more tomorrow?
A decent striker perhaps?
