You would think that is the defensive cover sorted, I would hope for a couple of strikers hopefully at least one with some experience.

Stoke are currently trying to offload him to Burnley as part of the deal for Sam Vokes, his wages would be a long way out of our reach.

I remember him playing very well against us for Stockport in 2006 when on loan from Aston Villa. Scored a goal. He was released at the end of the season and was signed by Torquay. Missed opportunity by us!

Signing a kid who has never played first team football and a bloke that’s struggling to keep fit is exactly the type of transfer window I was dreading. I really hope I’m wrong...
More needed tomorrow.

I think Williams is definitely a good signing, the question is whether he is a good signing for our immediate needs. Let's hope Golbourne is a naturally fit lad or he may struggle to make much impact for a while.

welcome to town ro- shaun williams and golbourne a centre back and left back, as far as i can tell williams has only ever played for man united academy whilst he should be well drilled, he is supposed to have pace to burn something we have lacked in the heart of the defence.i wonder how he will cope with the physicality of league 1 on paper a good loan player
golbourne was the trialist at the Bournemouth reserve game he was playing as a wing back neat and tidy worked hard kept things simple ,was vocal and trying to be available and tracked back , he has been out for a bit with injury and not surprisingly ran out of steam by the 80th minute. let us hope he is as good as a left back as he was a wing back.

I don't think we need another right back. I would prefer two forwards, we're well short in that department.

Sears, or Beckles.
Young Sears looks a good prospect, Beckles whilst far from ideal would do a job on his natural side of the pitch if push comes to shove.

Sears, or Beckles. Young Sears looks a good prospect, Beckles whilst far from ideal would do a job on his natural side of the pitch if push comes to shove. Fair enough but that would leave us with no cover at CB if we continued with 3-5-2 and that’s assuming the United lad is up to first team football which is by no means a given. Relying on Sears to step up is another gamble.

Okay, I take your point. Maybe Ricketts will see this and bring someone else in.

I don't think we need another right back. I would prefer two forwards, we're well short in that department. No decent striker is going to sign for us if they think they will be a number 3. I think if we get one half has good as the one we have but a different style we will of done well. Unfortunately 3 good strikers is asking a bit much. The question is a loan who is on his way up but not ready for his own clubs first team, or loan of a player on his way down but more than good enough for us?

We could get one experienced striker, hopefully, and another youngster. A youngster won't be expecting to be first choice.
It a matter of having more options.

I see that Craig Mikhail-Smith has signed for Notts County on loan from Wycombe. That’s the sort of player I would have liked us to sign.

I agree, we're lacking the know how up front that comes with experience, someone who knows the right decision to take and can manage the game better. Imagine Fey playing off such a player, they wouldn't need to be the most mobile just intelligent.
Someone like Brett Pitman who has been mentioned previously.

Stefan Payne anyone? Don’t be surprised if he returns Would be entertaining to see the meltdown from many of our fans. Personally I would say it wouldn't be the worst signing, however it would highlight the terrible transfer dealings this season.

well it is right down to the wire you would think two forwards would have been near top of the wish list. we are looking very thin up front.we have scored 32 goals Ferjiri has scored 14 and made a number of assists we need to wrap him up in cotton wool. what is the problem well who wont to go to a club in a relegation battle ? yet other bottom half clubs have signed forwards. is it the wages? well we wont know the answer to that is it a failure in the scouting system ? one reason for Rickets appointment was his network , i had hoped with his links to wolves we might have picked up a few players from there if we do sign one only time will tell if he is any good. if we dont well we know from last january how much that cost us

Would expect Jones and Angol to be leaving. was jones brought back from loan by the club or did his loan period run out, personally i dont think he is good enough so he is a player we would not miss. we know Angol can play but we also know the problems we have had, if we dont sign a forward i am not sure what to think if send Angol out on loan

Featured in last weeks reserve game v Bournemouth thanks for that i was just wondering was he recalled which would suggest the club either had a role for him or were looking to get rid of him or if he loan was not extended something else

Lewis Cox's assessment ahead of today's deadline. "Exit front one" is ambiguous. It could just mean that one player is leaving, or it could mean a front player is leaving i.e. a forward. If it's the latter, then Angol must surely be in the frame, with the latter part of Cox's tweet referring to Jones.
