I do think KL8 has a point, why are we using the term Dons in this thread and MK DONS - Retro Kit Day 2018 - Announcement?
I would understand exactly what was meant if this thread was just titled MK match and it would not be so offensive to those who oppose the way the real Don's were hijacked.

Why the 5.30 kick offs? League 2 all kick off at 3.00.

Why the 5.30 kick offs? League 2 all kick off at 3.00. For TV. They'll have running highlights of all the last games on Soccer Special & Rochdale vs Charlton live on Sky Sports football. All games on the final day have to finish at the same time so no team has an advantage. If Plymouth win their final game 2-0 & Charlton somehow lose 4-0 at Rochdale ( stranger things have happened) then Charlton & Plymouth will be joint 6th & a Play off to play us in the Play offs will happen. ( Mon or Tues are the dates mentioned ) probably unlikely to happen but it would give us one hell of an advantage going into Thursday if it did. We can but pray.

Paul has put out a strong team for today's game. Why. I would be resting 3-4 players in that team. Why risk playes like sadler and Toto?

At the moment Oldham and Northampton will be joining MK and Bury in league 2 next season.

This is very very worrying.
We look like we put all our eggs in one basket for that 2nd spot and since it disappeared most of the players look like they are already on the beach.
The speculation over Hurst, although unavoidable, has also come at a bad time.
Just can’t see where the next performance is coming from.

We've lost the pressing and intensity that we had a few games ago, and that's something that can't be just turned back on. I'm not confident at all for the play offs.

Were my ears deceiving me, or has some wag managed to get Ryan Jervis to read: “A big Happy Birthday to Fran Chyse”
at half time? Massive congratulations to whoever managed to slip that one through!

It’s been a great season.
But focusing on the Checkatrade has undone us.

Charlton are awful. However;
We have put a decent side out today and are losing against a relegated team who have lost 5 on the bounce.
The high press and passing game that made us competitive earlier in the season have deserted us just when it matters. The writing has been on the wall since the Checkatrade final and the loss of Agogo.
God only hopes he can somehow be fit for the playoffs because if not, we are out.

It’s been a great season. But focusing on the Checkatrade has undone us. You may well be proved to be right but fairly pointless statements to make now. I think we’re all apprehensive but given most of the players will be playing the biggest games of their careers over the next week I don’t think there is much value in rubbishing our play off chances based on the performances over the last few dead rubber games, when fear of injury etc is at the forefront of players minds.

This is in fact a real person. I’m told she is an odious individual who has recently been released from prison for theft. Happy birthday my arse!

I think the loss of Agogo is something that we have yet to overcome. I however am determined to believe that when the chips are down we will perform. The last few games have just been marking time until the playoffs.
I don't believe that the checkatrade will have impacted us that much - cup runs (including our own this season) seem to only rolled out as an excuse when there is a dip in form.

Just saying.
One shot on target with the team that will probably start the game vs Charlton against a team who are down and lost 5 in a row.
It would have to be a monumental turnaround. Can’t see where the goals are coming from. Our form and performances are abysmal. Just can’t see it but always a chance.

So we lost against a team who were already relegated. Charlton lost against a team who were very close to it. Should be an interesting game in the play offs. 2 poor teams playing each other, just hope we get back to form a bit better than Charlton.

We can dismiss the previous games as non-events but I'm concerned after that showing. Lacking creativity and a cutting edge against one of the worst sides in the league and going for a record points haul with what must be close to the starting eleven for Thursday. Bringing on Max Lowe for Nolan looked a very strange substitution.
The MK chant of: "How s**t must you be, we're winning away" just about sums it up. Just have to hope this is all part of an elaborate charade to deceive Charlton.

i can rationalise that this was not an important game beyond the chance of a record points total. it 44 minutes for there keeper to make a save, which came from a solo run by Eisa, he also got down the line put three crosses on the ground back to the box and no one got near them. too many players seemed very reluctant to take a shot.
first 6 minutes of second half town created more chances than the whole of the first half , just a lack of composure and clinical finishing. a soft penalty we had a goal disallowed quite rightly for off side a goal moth clearance and the game fizzled out.
we lost to a team who for the most part were just going through the motions. last five games won 1 ,drawn 2 ,lost 2 .

And the point of playing 2 full backs in midfield whilst leaving Morris and Jones on the bench was?

That was a terrible performance, and a bitter blow to lose to the Franchise vermin.
The tempo was non-existent today, and every passage of mundane football was punctuated by a cheap freekick and then a significant pause while the afflicted player remained prostrate on the turf. A boring spectacle if truth be told.
Great support from Block 18 and 19 today, very impressed with their valiant efforts.
